that looks boring as hell... and i hate these stock photos even more than the shiny ones. i'd rather have over-photoshopped crap then all the toys looking primary as hell.
Underwhelming. As others have said, it looks sort of boring and cheap to me. I think my Prime collecting will definitely start dwindling once Beast Hunters takes over. Just gotta get Laserback (who has a nice nostalgic RiD feel to him) and that little Sinnertwin homage, and then I think I'm out... EDIT: Oh, just read back and saw the comments/links regarding the larger version. That one looks more promising, I'll almost certainly opt for that if given the choice. Kind of strange that there are two large-ish versions of this character available. I hope that larger version sees the light of day... I'd still like to have a representation of the character.
Bot mode looks pretty solid. I like it. Predaking will probably be the only figure in this line I buy. Perhaps Lazerback too. The rest look like garbage.
I'm surprised no one mentioned that Predaking could make a good base for a repaint based off of Deathsarus or Dezaras from Masterforce.
My bad. For some reason I was remembering those pics as just this Voyager. Looking back at those show pics I can see that there is more overall detail on that version. Although the base design seems the same.
Looks OK. Honestly if I just came across that photo randomly I wouldn't have guessed it was a Transformer. It does look like the best thing from the Critter Gitters line, but that's not really saying much. Not hating, just...not loving.
Yeesh. Bland design, goofy proportions, the sword thing looks awful and impractical. I'll wait for the super big version.
Not bad. I dig the color scheme. Bot mode has a slight edge over dragon mode. I'm just afraid his articulation will be totally gimped in alt mode similar to Thundertron. The claw hands are odd but as long as they have wrist rotation, it shouldn't be too bad (otherwise him having a sideways grip looks a bit derpy).
Looks alright. I'm glad that these voyagers wont be coming with the horrible light-up mech tech powerizer weapons that hardly make anything glow and ends up looking like a random light inside a transparent hunk of junk.
I don't think the big version is really going to have anything different in those issues you've stated. I think a lot of that is just the character's base design.
He'll probably look way better in person. In the pics from SDCC his Dragon Mode looked fucking incredible. Edit: Just figured it out, the paint aps for him at SDCC weren't shit.
