Holy hell in a hand basket!
What was the transformation rating on the new Preceptor?

I have never fought with a toy so much. Anyone else have an epic fight with there Preceptor?

It took me awhile to figure out the legs and I still hate the way his chest doesn't feel solid

I had some issues locking up his back pack the 1st time around.
Still love this figure a lot.

I don't recall there ever being, or ever going to be, a toy named that.

Fortunately I'd watched Peaugh's review which had the complete transformation done on camera, so I was prepared. The instructions were a bit useless, weren't they? And yeah, I still haven't been able to tab his back in properly. Whenever I pose his arms without holding the back in place it pops out, damnit.

had problems with where/how the arms go in vehicle mode. spent like an hour on it!

make sure the head stays up while folding the backpack in. a bit of force is required to get those 2 clicks to tell you the backpack is good.

I had some difficulty doing each mode the first time through... but now that I know how things are supposed to be, no problem!

There shouldn't be much force required at all.

The first step is to push the black hinge bar against his back as far as it'll go, then you can slide his head up. When you let go of the hinge bar, there's a tab on it that should drop right into the slot on his head slider. Then you can tab the hood down.

For going back to vehicle mode, unlock the hood, push the hinge bar up against his back again, then push the head down to unlock the assembly.

Yup the first time round can be quite irritating but after the 2nd & 3rd tries, everything would be just fine ;)

Mine required quite a bit of force - if I did it gently, the tab just slid back out again whenever I tried to pose the arms. =/

First couple times were a little tricky but after that Perceptor was pretty simple.

Oh, sure you do. Remember? He's the guy who administers the RAT (Robot Aptitude Test) to Protoforms.

He is a pain. I think the backpack tab on mine needs some nail polish, I get it in but it doesn't hold at all. They really should have put tabs for the shoulder plates in there.
