The Dirtboss many people have gotten pre release looks a lot different then the one shown at toyfair.

    The toyfair version had:
    More black
    Darker green
    More red, with different patterns
Might only be me, but can somebody post the toyfair pic and a pre release pic side by side?

I have one on the way, and will be quite happy if it is an unfinished version.

Slightly different paint and quite a bit more grey plastic.
Wow, my prototype Dirt Boss might actually be worth something someday! :lol

Took me a minute to figure out who you were talking about. I'll put together a comparison picture and post it here in a minute.

    Edit: Nvm :( ...

Good, I wasn't just fooling myself.

I have the "prototype" one coming from tfctoys. Hope it is rare or worth something in the future. Never owned anything ubber rare.

Now I really don't mind that I paid $20 shipped!

For some reason it took me forever to see what you guys were talking about. :lol

That's cool though. Further differentiations between Dirt Boss and Spoons the 2nd are approved.

Mostly all of the toys at ToyFair are hand painted. So these are probably something that remained in the hands of Hasbro reps from corporate that they put out for display. These toys are in production already, if not carded. So the ones you guys have already, are probably the ones for general release.

Not an unheard of situation. My test shot classics Starscream is missing paint apps that were on the retail version.

Yup. I've got an Alt Sideswipe that is missing moulded details that are on the final version.

Yeah, my guess is the one people have been getting is going to be the standard release, whereas the nice looking one from the show is a far nicer version we aren't getting.

I think you might be missing the point of mine and Draven's post. The pre-release or test shot toys are missing paint apps and such where the retail toys have them.

It also looks like some parts, such as the lift are made out of different colored plastic instead of being painted over.

Because a superior version was shown at the show doesn't mean it's the final version.

And we are certain the one's we have seen at the show are the versions that are hitting retail?

I think you missed my point. My guesstimation is that what was shown at the Toy Fair were painted prototypes and not the mass retail figures, which I believe are probably the same as the one's people are getting prerelease.
