So I preordered one of these back in September:

    ★PP05W Weapon Specialist (Preorder&Free Shipping!)

Back then the release date for Weapons Specialist was mid~late December. That date came and the release date was pushed back to mid~late February. That date has also now come and done and there's a new release date set for April 15nth.

Does anybody have any solid information about when this might actually be released? I am no longer inclined to trust what the order page says.

They're coming out the 5th of Never in my opinion.

I preordered, then iGear chose to blow through a few release dates without even an email to apologize and keep me in the loop.

I sent my credit card company after them, and got a refund. I encourage any/all of you who preordered to do the same, and teach them that they can't just take our money and run.

There's really no telling with iGear. Nobody can give you a date any more accurate than iGear themselves gives, and as you've seen yourself, the dates they give are complete lies. It comes out when it comes out. (shrug)

I´ve worked with mechanical projects before and Ipve dealt with more simple projects which got delayed for about an year from release date. Why? Small companies have a harder time produce parts and preotypes, and since mechanical development is a trial and error process for the most part (even with good physics and material knowledge, you never know exactly how certain parts wil work until you try.

<y point: they are no liers, just a not so big company trying to make good toys which justify the higher price they put by not falling apart, scrapping paint or getting too stick or too floppy on us. To me it is worth waiting.

No, they are liars. They post dates and wait until they pass to change them on their own website, then they change the date without comment. They accept preorder money for items they know full well will not ship on the date they are solicited and they charge a fee if you cancel your preorder even if they are months past the solicited date.

Also their customer service used to be great, but now completely sucks.

I have worked for small businesses before, I understand the realities of bringing a product to market. I own several iGear toys and like most of them a lot. But what iGear does is flat out lying. From the way they get their molds to the way they do their business, they are a shady company.. they just happen to also make cool toys.

Aside from the inner bits of how they got their months, I still can´t see the word lie (as in covering the truth with a not true fact).

But I see (in a more right term) lack of communication or omission - drastically different - which is still a bad thing of course but that is usually bad management of growth like the bad costomer service. I for one with they should release a note on their products delay, not doing so is not tending to lie, just lack of proper information to the buyers.

I hope they improve on that, seeing how people are disappointed.

Well IGear isn't the ones making the figures they are just the distributors. The PP in the name PP-01 or PP-02...ect stands for Partner Products.

That just complicates it more, specially if the partner is not a single company...

This is why I'm waiting till these bad boys are out and in peoples hands. No way am I paying for summat and waiting 6 months plus for them to arrive. At their prices it's also highly unlikely they'll sell out fast either.

Or they're just too optimistic. Or their partner is.

Or because this is the nature of the 3rd party beast.

But also as Megatroptimus said, they are over zealous and too optimistic.

Many of these companies are new young upstarts and they either do not forsee any possible issues or they underestimate the real time it takes to produce stuff. But I'm going with over zealous.

Every company is dealing with faulty release dates. Even Hasbro. And Takara.

Remember, it's a brand new world right now. China is only operating but a handful of the factories that use to produce plastic goods, and everyone is having issues getting products released. This issue is only going to worsen FOR ALL COMPANIES over the next few years until some kind of equilibrium can be achieved.

Pretty much that, producing toys is not something easy to predict and there are many variables, just the project part, to make it look good and functional is completely crazy to estimate, not to mention other variables in the process.

Just preorder from BBTS (they won't charge your card until the figures are actually available anyway) and save yourself the headache (I'd say it's well worth the extra bucks in case there's any QC issues since iGear's customer service leaves much to be desired these days). When it drops into your PoL is when they're released. Fire and forget. This is what I do for iGear's big stuff. But for their small stuff like the Mini Warriors and heads/gun upgrades, I preorder directly from iGear's Web site. The smaller price point is worth the QC risk.
