Powermaster Prime was always one of my favorites. I first learned about him from the Marvel comics continuity, then later from the last parts of G1 where there was a PM Op with a boy named "Tommy".

However, I never got the original toy until I was an adult... I remember seeing it ONCE at an FAO Schwartz, but couldn't get it b/c it was too much.

So now, I finally got the TRU reissue version and it's great. But the seller also gave me a junker PM prime, so I figured why not update that one. I took a junker Cybertron Optimus and decided to combine the two.

I changed Cyber Op's transform a bit so that his chest windows could serve in truck mode. Then found a way to attach the trailer. The trailer still becomes a base, but it's not the same shape as before. And it comes apart and combines with Prime as well.

More pics to come... for now you can see the vehicle mode. I repainted the trailer and added decals to cover the faded stripes and Autobot symbols. Also added cartoon window like decals.

    EDIT: More pics!
Optimus Prime, "normal mode" (cab only)

Ginrai / Hi-Q, painted: also had to sculpt him a new, non-moveable arm b/c the original didn't come with one (it was a junker I got off ebay as part of a lot). I wanted to brighten up his white and red and give him a flesh-tone face.

Trailer, Base Mode: Here I had to get a bit creative, but I like how this looks.

Powermaster Prime, combined with his trailer: (I left Ginrai off in the photos, but he does combine)

He's articulated everywhere that Cybertron Optimus is:

I disassembled his original PM head and just used the front like a mask.
It works if you turn the cab's head around. Note that I replaced the cab's
head's "wings" since they were missing on the junker I bought. I used some
plastic from an Energon Superion Maximus head.

    Hope you enjoyed him!

The cab part has a nice futuristic armored feel to it which works really good for a power master OP. Can't wait to see more.

Looks great, too bad you can't switch the rear trailer wheels though to be closer to Cybertron Prime's.

wow, i'm impressed. this works well. does the lower PM legs and trailer side flaps become the whole trailer in truck mode?

Not really... I can't separate the cab and trailer in
truck mode. He's more like a bus now. Optibus Prime? :)

Thanks for the great responses! Here's more photos:

I forgot to mention I also made a G1-style gun for him:

It's made from a KO Gundam gun with heavy modification plus a GIJOE
spring-loaded missile launcher, which still works, as the main barrel.

Optimus laying some smack down on Starscream and Thundercracker:

More smackdown. Ginrai thought he could help, but it looks like Thundercracker has him covered:

This needs a gallery badly. I'd love to see more of how you did that head and also the parts connectors. I like how he looks bulked up a bit more in PM mode, although he could use more for the shoulders, almost like he gained larger legs, but not much else. If there were a way to incorporate the backpack from Cyb. OP, but without the wings, that would help the figure get that feel. Also, that base is really imaginative.
