    Hopefully they can get as many people rescued from the rubble as possible.

    Very sad. Loss of life, and historical buildings lost forever as well.

    It is an apocalyptic scenery.. "L'Aquila" is the name of this city,in the middle of Italy. I have a lot of friends in these devastated zones (one of them is also a famous italian TF collector).
    My God...a lot of people are dead in a few seconds.. the earthquake's epicentre was too close to surface and buildings was too old to tolerate over 20 seconds of earth tremor..

    Very sad, I wonder if there will come a time where man can reduce the chances of a large scale earthquake. How? I dunno, geothermal power plants harnessing the heat energy at a crucial point on a fault line before it goes kinetic? Like I said I dunno. Physics, thermal dynamics and other complicated sciences aren't my strong suit.
