So I need a blue prime for my powered commander set when i get it. I figured since Powered Convoy became Ultra Magnus, it would be appropriate for my spare Classics Ultra Magnus to become Powered Commander. Here is what I got so far. I need to paint the doors and apply paint apps to prime.
it's looking good so far. you'd think that they might have tried to use the mold as a repaint to go with the armour.
Sadly not. I don't think hasbro would bother to make only 500 for the exclusive plus this is a third party acessory and I don think hasbro jumps hoops for third parties.
looks good, and the paint is done in a clean way. i'm sure there are many sorry people that know there is one less classics ultra magnus around. the white on the front of the cab is nice, but it looks a little weird on the top section around the window, might want to paint part of it in. your choice of course.
Well it is a WIP. Im far from done. I jsut assembled it to see how it turned out. It is NOT paint. I dyed the parts those colors. As you say, I need to paint the doors and the window frame.
you probably could just give it a black wash to darken the painted places... otherwise you need to mix your blue paint to get it to match. that's always the hard part when it comes to dying TFs!
I've used magnus for fodder. I got mine when they were clearanced at Target. I see nothing wrong with it at all.
Nicely done are you getting a TFCon PC to go with that ?? Prime or Nemy would not take to the dyeing process. Plus one less Ultra Magnus in the world means the rest go up in value.
to be honest, I had two packages of Rit Dye from a previous dye job. I didnt label them so it was a 50/50 chance. I think I dyed it the darker of the two blues. I used the originally for my dyed Diaclone Powered Convoy job. Anyway im lazy and gonna stick with it the way it is. I will add the silver striping soon. No im not gonna sell this and yes, I made it to go with my TFCON PC!!! Are you serious? cause i bought my UM when it came out. I missed the ones on clearance but just a month ago, I found the two pack again in a local toy store (they buy toys from people and sell them) And I paid $30 for a MISB UM/Skywarp set. Plus werent there a lot of those Classics Prime/UM two packs too? Anyway my new UM is wearing my City Commander armor and the older one, is now blue Convoy.
