It seems the line-wide gimmick of PCCs is combination. HOWEVER, I'd still like to see the older combiner teams updated for the line. Personally, I'd love a new Menasor based on Don's new art style.

    Your thoughts?

Good thought. Since the line is mostly based around a universal system of combination, I can sense that if all the "limbs" of a classic team were to be made in the line, fans who care about making accurate combiners can get all the members of the team. :)

Sounds decent, but I could do without the new ongoing's style.

So far it seems that the combinations are kibble-less, and the connection points can stow away when not in use. This gives me great hope. :D

    To each their own.

The Lumberjack we got seems to be a torso for the combiners. Looks pretty good. I just hope we can get Onslaught, Silverbolt, Motormaster, etc. in that style.

Hey I'd be cool with Onslaught, Silverbolt, and Motormaster...but why not different and new characters?

I'm all for fresh new characters...give us something to want homages for 20 years down the line.

That's a great idea, hopefully we'd see others like Predaking or the Seacons though.

    my picks
-Constructicons> Devastator: All 6 Contructicons, Devastator designed like the G1 cartoon version. Individual Minicon/ Weapon Partners become Devastators's gun. figures sold as Deluxes and have combiner sectons built in (like Liokaiser)
    -Predacons> Predaking
    -Aerialbots> Superion
    -Combaticons> Bruticus
-Liokaiser (first time he'd be released in the states, even as a new mold)

I hope this is actually a full line, and not a subline like some people are thinking (I doubt Hasbro would copyright a new line subname, make new minicons for only 2 or so figures) It doesn't look like a part of ROTF per say (the design styles look more like traditional TF's with a bit of the movie style mixed in ) so who knows, we could get lucky and the upcoming year will be
    -end of ROTF
-War for Cybertron (maybe a Universe subline)
-Power Core Combiners (Most likely the new series line)

I gotta wonder how they would handle the gestalt's hands though; more generic Energon claws and guns?

    I support this idea!

And I would do horrible, horrible things for a PCC Liokaiser.

That would be pleasant. The old characters and designs are iconic of course, but giving us something new and awesome wouldn't go amiss. As you say, something that we can be excited about being homages in years to come. There's obviously a taste for new characters: look how many of us want a Drift toy.

Oh yes! (Although I would be happy enough with a G1 Menasor.) The things I would do for a Predaking would chill the soul and worry even the most enlightened of men.

Hopefully the figures would have hollow sections that can hide the hands. Alternatively, they go retro on us and have detachable fists.

I always liked the way Gobots Puzzler's arms hid his hands. For something like Menasor, where the back of the cars become the limb bot's legs, you could split the hands in two and have them double as heel spurs.

Based on the packaging blurb... it sounds like the "commander" figures combine with minicons and with "drone vehicles"... To me "drone vehicles" sound like things that do not have their own robot modes... sounds like vehicles that just transforms into limbs for the "commander" figures.

Who knows... maybe there will be more traditional combiners, but right now, I'm not getting my hopes up for a team of 5 robots that transform into alternate modes and combine into a gestalt.

Good Point. If they don't inject new characters and combiners. Then all kids today will want in their 30s are homages to toys that were were already homages to even older toys.

I don't see why it is so important to incorporate EVERY part of a gestalt on to the figures. Look at the crappy feet/hands of the Energon combiners. Would it kill people to have these as separate accessories to add for the combined mode.
