I've always thought that Lord Zedd could've been an awesome villian, but he never quite lived up to his potential. I mean, look at the guy! He's all exposed muscle and a metallic skeleton on the outside!

I never owned a Lord Zedd figure until I acquired one a few months ago as part of a trade with another board member in our Junkion Excange. When I got the guy I thought that he was pretty weak looking and vowed that I would one day repaint him into something that I thought would fit what the character could be.

In the before picture, you can see that he is primary color is a Play-Doh red which I absolutely hated. I painted him a deeper red and drybrushed his skeleton with silver to give him a grittier look. I figured that he probably wouldn't be pristine after all of the battles that he had with the Rangers, so he should look a little battle-worn. I also gave him blue veins and some purple coloring for the crevices of the brain. He was finished with a satin clear-coat for the skeleton and a gloss coat for the muscles and brain to give them a sort of juicy look.

An interesting thing about this figure is that he also has a light up feature that allowed the entire upper torso to light up in the front. I painted the inside of the chest to allow light to only show in the middle as seen in the last picture.

    Materials used:
Testor's Model Master Acrylic Insignia Red
    Testor's Enamel Silver
    Sharpie Black Marker
    RoseArt Metallics Blue Marker
    RoseArt Metallics Purple
    Testors Satin Spray Clear Coat
    Future Finish Floor Wax

I actually had a lot of fun with this guy! He took a lot longer than I though for such a simple figure (I spent about 5-6 hour total), but he is well worth it and I know he'll be in the collection for quite a while!

Yes, I was one of those "closet" teens who watched MMPR, JUST LIKE EVERY ONE OF YOU WERE. I don't care who you are, Amy Jo Johnson was gorgeous and could beat me up, and that's hot.

    *ahem*

I always tended to agree with you on the Zedd appraisal. Most of the PR villains were-and still are- ridiculous and unintimidating, at best. I always thought the Zedd costume (sans the dumb "Z" staff) looked like it had been left over from a MUCH cooler series.

He kinda puts me in mind of a Ninja Gaiden villain, or something. Nice custom!

while were on t he topic of lord zed did they ever explain what happened to his war zord serpentera over the years?

for that matter would it be possible to kitbash rid megatron or bwtm2 megatron into being a transformer take on the character

basicly imagine what would happen if zed ever got his hands on cybertronian technology and used it to both enhance his own body and his zord in such a way that the 2 became a single amalgamated godmaster like being with either dragon zed kitbash being a possible result of exploring that idea in kitbashed toy form

i actually think it would be a interesting idea worth exploring.

done up just right and sporting the right colorscheme and weaponry i actually think that as a custom painted heavily customised kitbashed transformer figure the idea would kick all kinds of serious ass.

i can't even imagine how many differnat flavors of awesome that would be
