Serious question... Maybe this is where the Waverider mold will finally find a home? We know it’s been tooled, just a matter of finding the right avenue to release it in (maybe as a multi-pack or at a higher price point with a deluxe)

 

We don't really know, but it seems like a possibility. I think I'd be will to pay ~$15 for a set of the Primes that got left out of the Prime Master assortment, as long as they have the pretender shells.

 

you realize that math doesnt work right? primemasters with shells were sold for $5 a piece. there were 5 primemasters missing from the regular assortments meaning youd pay a minimum of $25 if they did a set like that

 

OK then I could be convinced to go that high, maybe even $30.

 

$30 is probably more realistic if they were to do all 5 in my opinion. at the very least they could do a 3 pack of the ones that were only available in the throne (which may be where you got $15 from) since both onyx and prima were available at regular retail packed with other figures

 

Yeah I would want the set to have Onyx and Prima, so they can have their shells, even if they are repainted shells.

 

More shells is a fantastic idea for future select series releases! I really, really want to see the Diver/Waverider mold!

 

I just remembered there were 15 prime master symbols on a piece of advertising (don't have the pic because i'm at work now) but we know 12 were the advertised ones, "13" came with the exclusive Throne set, leaving 2 unaccounted for... Could they be showing up in this line???

 

i just wanted to touch on this a bit because you do seem to be someone relatively "in the know". the reason people keep saying potp was cut short is because of the physical evidence. sure people can say it was planned for this or that but the truth of the matter is that there are retools that were developed and obviously planned that have yet to come out. we know those exist which is why at the very least it feels like it got cut short.

 

It was 12 for the named Primes, 1 for the Matrix/13th Prime, 1 for the Enigma of Combination, and 1 for Unicron.

 

Unicron...? I really hope that they plan on making a Unicron primemaster.  

 

This wouldn't be the first time that tooling was premade and didn't get used until later releases.

 

While they didn't remold it on the actual toy from the original version, it's the chaos matrix that came with Rodimus Unicronus and was featured in the web series.

 

I think Onyx is going to he forever associated with Predaking.

But Nexus, Amalgous, and Prima could still get a release like that. Though I argue it's far more likely you'd see Nexus come with a combiner team set.

 

Oh. Well it would still be pretty cool to see.

 

I gotta say that what you are describing here is a design process led by people who have contempt for their fans. Which kinda sucks. Warden isn't always the most open with us but i really don't get a sense of contempt or disrespect from him or his team. So is this the designers at Takara Tomy?

 

What’s described there makes no sense really considering he’s saying these designers were paid to design stuff that they knew wouldn’t see release

 

Four of which you feel were initially intended for release with the Decoy shells and not stuck in an exclusive boxset without them!

I can't speak for everyone but I suspect many of us would have rather had the intended decoy suits rather than the Primes that went inside! That was the selling point of the size for me.

The 13th was most likely always intended to be with Throne Primal as he is the only one with a card with the 13th symbol, while every other figure has only 12 card variants.
