They announced the Wild Card slot prior to the end of the first round. Which makes sense. You've got three categories, so if one of the category runner ups got more votes than a winner from the other category why not include them in the second round?

 

He's the only interesting Decepticon choice (apart from Thunderwing) and i think its fair of them to give him a second chance cause people rarely vote Decepticon in these things anyway. I hope some people reevaluate their earlier vote, take a lool at what the IDW version of the character stands forand give him a chance. He was always the real underdog in this race and i hope he wins.

 

Laugh all you want. I'm working towards a toy GUARANTEE.

I would be fine with either incarnation, really. I was initially unsure of the zealot personality when there was some guys that I was sure would be better winners but now that he's my fallback option, I am hoping for his more villainous incarnation. Though, again, he being a hero would be cool too.

Either way, I hope they add a little bit of detail to his G1 design for the toy.

Animated Prime is Prime. Movie Prime is Prime. Aligned Prime is Prime. They are derivatives of the same character.

Primal, while paying homage, is not Prime. He's his own character.

And he will Maximize Cybertron's future.

 

Also convenient that they already have a Deathsaurus Generations toy coming out at the end of the year right in time to be revealed when the toys are in.

 

So the whole voting thing is rigged right? How do we have 4 finalists out of 3 categories? As soon as they announced this whole thing, we knew Deathsaurus, I mean the "Unknown Evil", was going to win. Otherwise, why all the cloak and dagger bullshit over his identity? We've already got Powermaster Prime and Apex, aka God Ginrai, and an upcoming Overlord in Titans Return, aka the Headmasters/Masterforce Generations line. I won't be surprised when they announce Star Saber or "Unknown Evil" as the winner, the other being the 1st runner, and both receiving toys in the next Generations line, probably Victory, Zone, and clean up whatever they missed in Combiner Wars and Titans. Predaking? Sure! Abominus? Sure! Piranacon? Sure! Hey, could we get a repaint of that as God Neptune? Fuck no, that's Beast Wars filth!

Nonetheless, I'll still be voting for Primal, obviously. I'm surprised he was even on the list to begin with considering Hasbro's current hatred for anything Beast Wars related.

Although, I've got to say, these 3 choices are pretty boring. They're all already Prime-like. Ultra Magnus is just a white Prime in power armor. Primal is literally just monkey Prime. And Star Saber is Japanese anime not-a-Gundam Prime. If the goal is to "Prime-ify" them ala Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime, how are they going to "Prime-ify" them even more? Give Ultra Magnus another trailer ala Godbomber? Give Star Saber Victory Leo AND a new character that forms even more armor? Take Optimal Optimus and fan mode 6 more alt modes into him like Car Robots Devil Gigatron?

 

Well since Hound didn't make it of three I voted for I guess I have no reason to complain. It was toss up with Deathsaurus and Star Saber. I voted for Star Saber.

 

I just hope Ultra Magnus loses.

 

I'm interested in "Unknown Evil". But knowing Star Saber and that Primal crap are so popular I'm not bothering to vote.

Has this actually been confirmed or is it going to be another case of get your hopes up and then its just a titan master?

 

I have watched Beast Wars. That doesn't change that he still is basically the Optimus Prime of the show. Same with Megatron. Personalities change from continuity to continuity, doesn't make him not an Optimus Prime.

There also were just other better, more unique individuals to pick from Beast Wars, over another Optimus.

 

I just want an IDW Star Saber please. Milne's design for him is amazing.
