Yeah, I'm going to be upset if the other 3 have any odd issues.
I'm not too worried about them, though I am for Cutthroat since he's a remold of Swoop and Swoop's limb modes didn't really hold together all that well.
the leg mode is especially crap. I'll be using Cutthroat as an arm if he shares the same issue, G1 accuracy be damned.
If that's the case for Cutthroat, then I will be severely disappointed.
Stop tempting me! I have enough expenses without wanting to put together my own POTP Dinobot team
Can't wait for Rippersnapper to get here on..hopefully Friday (delivery window from Amazon says between the 16th and the 23rd so.....).
That said, I thought this looked pretty aces:
And yes, I know I forgot to flip up his knee pads.
I'm back and forth about the knee thing it does look more "roboty" in robot mode.
That's one of my favorite things about the Terrorcons they look clean in robot mode not like most beast transformers.
POTP Battletrap showcase:
Liege Maximo Megatron.
Who's bright idea was it to put giant spikes right next to Battletrap's hands?
I know. While it's supposed to be heels, I feel there could have been another way.
I picked up PoTP Optimus today and I really like this guy. I got Optimus Quintus(I've been getting Quinteses lately). Though I didn't find Roadtrap, I still think this guy was worth finding.
And as someone who hates stickers, I'm actually surprised the ones on mine are decent, despite him being in a damaged box.
Let's just say... he didn't have a good time until I brought him home.
Classy. I like your style
With the CW combiners I was always, perhaps a little bitterly, aware that the other modes felt compromised due to them having to be a limb as well. There were some great deluxe class figures in CW but there was always that little nagging thought "would these have been better if they didn't have to be a limb?". With the PotP Deluxes, particularly Rippersnapper and Jazz, I've felt they were really good figures in both robot mode and alt mode to the point where I've had to remind myself that they're combiner limbs. Of course your own mileage may vary.
And now, for the two bots that I can't forget are limbs, what with them being redos of some CW guys.
When I reviewed Dreadwind I wrote about how surprised I was that I'd enjoyed the figure quite so much and the amazing confidence trick that PotP had pulled. I can't say the same about Darkwing. He's definitely the weakest of the deluxe class bots I've seen so far. I've really struggled to find much that I've enjoyed about the figure. A real shame, because I still think Dreadwind is great. That Dreadwing mode is embarrassingly bad though.
Observation & question/hypothesis/possibility:
... via partsforming/swapping ala the original toy? (To better reflect the cartoon?) Just a thought. Failing that... third party add-ons should be facilitated by that peg hole, in theory. Again, just a thought/possibility. But since the prototype shows it... ? Anyway, I just hadn't noticed that before.
