So... we just don't know... and we have to just use replacements... This sucks. I was really looking forward to the remaining members from the cartoon...

I'd be surprised if we see much of the various 'Prime Wars' gimmick engineering in the first part of WfC, as that seems - from what little we know - like a more 'back to basics, but like on another planet' approach. Definitely scope to give us some more Headmasters and Combiners as things progress though.

    quick edit to add...
Me too! Feels like a very sour missed opportunity.

You've got me very curious about what's the step up in sophistication in Rippersnapper? He looks like a very standard CW/PotP limb design... haven't gotten him myself, so what is it? Do his multi-hinged knees retract into the leg without needing the lower leg split open, like Starscream?

I'm also a little sad that there doesn't seem to be an all female Combiner team in PotP, but Hasbro has a habit of continuing to use the same gimmicks across campaigns. Here we are in PotP and Combiners are still a thing. My guess is that it will continue into the WFC trilogy.

I'd love to see the pretender shells continue too!

Definitely. I wanna see them tackle the beast and vehicle pretenders.

I actually like the weapon modes more than I thought I would, and, aside from retools like Bomb-burst and Landmine, it's cool to have the tiny inner robot look like their G1 toy counterpart.

Don’t know if anyone has done this yet...I know that this happened to CW/UW Cyclonus. Only Starscream would worship himself.

They already have that, it's called "being selfish".

One person wants Hasbro/Takara to focus resources on BW, because that person likes BW.

Another person wants Hasbro/Takara to focus resources on non beast MPs and CHUG, because that's what that person likes.

Neither is more selfish than the other. Each is just as selfish as the other.

*If* one is more selfish than the other, it's the one that supports the toys that have a smaller fan base.

    So... PotP apprecation resumes now...

"Let Hasbro know we like BW" -selfish apparently

"Nope, just keep on trucking with my preferences" -somehow not more selfish

Because Primal was from Beast Wars, so that means BW is coming back.

Yes, not more selfish. One person has a BW preference. Another does not. One wants Hasbro to do BW, the other wants Hasbro to keep on trucking with what they prefer. How is it in your mind one is more selfish than the other?

Also note, "selfish" was the word you chose. I'm not saying letting hasbro know you want BW is selfish, but it's neither more nor less selfish than someone wanting things other than BW.

Using the PE feet/guns for Starscream's Null-Rays isn't too bad. But the head is still kinda small.

Well, let's do the number, (not counting repaints and slightly re-mold)
from MP1 to MP 10, we have 6 new molds
    MP-1 Convoy
    MP-3
    Starscream
    MP-5 Megatron
    MP-8 Grimlock
    MP-9 Rodimus Convoy
    MP-10 Convoy

from MP 11 to MP 20, we have 6 new MP molds,
    MP-12 Lambor
    MP-13
    Soundwave
    MP-15 Rumble & Jaguar
    MP-16 Frenzy & Buzzsaw
    MP-17 Prowl
    MP-20 Wheeljack

from MP 21 to MP 30, we have 7 new MP mods
    MP-21 Bumble
    MP-22
    Ultra Magnus
    MP-24 Star Saber
    MP-25 Tracks
    MP-27 Ironhide
    MP-28 Hot Rod
    MP-29 shockwave

From MP31 to MP40, we have 5 new molds, but really G1 characters only 3, so only half of the number of last 3 batches! So if Takara didn' t make those 2 beast war characters, at least the 5 new molds will be close to the history number.
    MP-32 Convoy (Beast Wars)
    MP-33
    Inferno
    MP-34 Cheetus (Beast Wars)
    MP-36 Megatron
    MP-39 Sunstreaker

So for the love of G1, I would like very much the hairy beast wars characters didn't make into the MP line so Takara can focus on G1 characters.

Nothing. And I suspect a mod may step in before long.

Personally, I feel as though HasTak will do whatever they wish to make money, and I will spend my money on whatever I feel worth purchasing. I for one enjoy the occasional throwback BW figure. Opinion shared and done.

So I found Roadtrap and Battleslash at my local Wal-Mart Friday and 3 Rodimus Unicronus and I am utterly shocked to see wave 2 already in my neck of the woods. They have even made a place for the Prime Masters finally. No signs of the other Wave 2 stuff however.

i have no history with the duocons from my childhood except seeing Flywheels on the intro for Season 4. He never actually appeared in the American show though.... These Legends updates are surprisingly impressive and well done, but I have a nitpicky complaint about Battletrap. Battleslash's heels hinder what kind of weapons he can hold and I am having a great deal of difficulty finding something for the pair to use. To be held straight, the weapon can't be wider than the 5mm post.

I would prefer a rifle or blaster that separated into 2 weapons to give each partner their own. I went through my whole collection to see if any of my guns fits the bill, and sadly nothing works without flexing the heel spurs or being held at an angle. I was really hoping that Skids/Crosscuts weapons would work, but alas, too thick. Perhaps, someday, one of the esteemed designers on Shapeways or Nonnef himself will bless us with some options. I hate having figures without weapons (guns more specifically). However, I did a minor modification on Battleslash's rotor to be removed easily so that i can be held as a "sword" (sarcastic quotation marks). It's a stretch, but I think it works ok, and the figure's art shows it. I guess that will have to do for now.

I am still torn on whether I will get the Terrorcons. As much as I actually like their designs, they pale in comparison to my UT Ordin. However, I still want a team that scales better with my UW Computron. First world problems I guess. Hopefully wave 2 and 3 distribution won't be too bad so that I can take my time to choose. So many Transformers, so little money to buy them all!

POTP has been a decent line, but the shadow of what won't be in it puts a major damper on my enjoyment.

I wasn't expecting much out of Rippersnapper, but my god is he the shit! :thumb  He's an excellent figure and I honestly can't believe how much fun I'm having with him. Robot mode is one of the most posable things that I've seen in a long while (those wrist swivels!). I've never been the most fond of beast modes of any kind, really, but his land shark alt. mode is absolutely fabulous all around. The guns on his back are pretty nice as well with how you can angle them however you want and the fact that you can use them as handheld weapons is even better. :)

Best figure from the line so far. 10/10.
