Just goes to show the writers couldn’t stick the landing with their arcs though. The unicron arc came out of nowhere, the Orion pax arc ends with restoring the status quo, bulkheads injury, breakdowns arc ended prematurely, arcee arc was obnoxiously repetitive, smokescreens arc ended up going nowhere.

Don’t get me wrong, some character arcs were good (bumblebee, knockout) but most ended pretty poorly and beast hunters can’t be blamed for all of it. Look at beast wars where hasbro would have characters die or change bodies but for the most part the writers did a good job of meeting hasbros demands. Prime is good on the surface, but look beneath the surface and it was woefully mismanaged

 

Sometimes things happen and it's not always the writers fault or that they have lack of talent. Sometimes they have to make the best of what happened to them like a theme that they originally weren't going to do like Beast Hunters since originally they were going to have the Star Seekers show up. Even some of the best shows out there had that happened to them,

 

Yes but they’ve also said they burned through their original season 3 story during season 2, it wasn’t all beast hunters fault. In fact most of the botched storylines either predate beast hunters or could have easily been integrated into beast hunters if they had done less relic hunt episodes. He’ll beast hunters in and of itself gave the promise of an army of predacons and only delivered one during the shows run (with two more in the movie). Maybe they could have afforded more character models if they hadn’t gone for celebrity voice actors. Maybe they should have tried a little harder to tell a good story instead of week after week of fetch quests

 

Unicron Battles is still the best series, shame it was only 13 episodes

Not sure how I'd feel about BW Megatron being Megatronus. I mean I'm not against the idea of having both Primal and BW Megatron being sent to this world cause in a way having Primal be more composed and somber compared to his original version does seem to imply he has experience and emotional hardships that made not like what he was originally would explain the different tone to his character but BW Megatron isn't someone I'd imagine loving anyone other then his own ego even during his BM phase where he isn't as witty before like in BW.

Speaking of Beast Wars Megatron I did watch The Basics of Beast Wars Megatron on youtube a while back and Chris Mcfreely mentioned that contrary to what people think Beast Megatron didn't actually got his name from G1 Megatron but rather an ancient destroyer long before G1 Megatron came to be so I gotta wonder if the reason why The Fallen is now labeled Megatronus was somehow a reference to that and if the Aligned universe got to a possible BW era phase or that IDw didn't have the Unicron event happened it would've have had BW Megatron take the name of Megatronus as opposed to just taking G1 Megatrons? It's something to think about at least if it's not true.

Well that happened and now megatronus has doomsday weapon. Grimlock still seems like a weakling compared to megs and Optimus primal has yet to do anything note worthy. Overall good show even though it's short.

 

I'm fairly certain I got the idea from the boards, but just incase; the episode was much more enjoyable when sped up to 1.25. A lot of the dialogue sounded more natural and the pacing was better overall. Thanks to the board-member(s) who let me know this trick.

 

Beast wars megatron took his name from the covenant of primus (assuming it was referring to g1 megatron) which was written in part about the beast wars. This created a bit of a paradox because megatron names himself after himself and presumably g1 megatron also took his name from the covenant. Remember in nemesis pt 1 or 2, megatron States “I’ll say one thing for my namesake, he liked his artilery big and plentiful”. So beast wars megatron named himself after both the covenant (himself) and g1 megatron (who he assumed the covenant was talking about)

he's not dumb in the comics...marvel dreamwave or idw...he'd never pick up megatron and spin him around in glee.

but he's not stupid. the way he talks is irrelevant...it's what he's saying or doing that makes a difference.
