Not bad. Not bad at all.

"Oh Optimus if you could see me know."

Best line of the whole series.

I guess base on that ending, you could say they're like some sort of 'Suicide Squad'...

The voices are growing on me, and despite a few hiccups (the way they said Victorion was a perfectionist), the plot was decent.

    Because they’re not done yet

    Waging a war and losing

Prime was also kind of garbage, the writers were afraid of changing the status quo

Well, that was illuminating. I thought Megatronus was working with Overlord, Rodimus, and Unicron. Interesting motivation and departure for Megatronus. He's kind of like the Thanos of this continuity. Sort of. Really though, I feel now more than ever they should have had David Kaye play Megatronus and Garry Chalk play Primal. Mainly because the consuming of every spark on Cybertron reminded me of BM. Heck, they could have even wrapped this into BM somehow saying these are future versions of those characters sent to the past. Maybe even say that the title of Megatronus, along with all the other Primes, is just that. A title. And maybe Beast Megatron, after he died in BM, was resurrected as the new Megatronus. Same with Primal. Maybe he's the Awoken Prime or whatever he's called. That mysterious 13th Prime. But I digress. That'd be a better story for a better series.

Also, I guess Victorion was composed of individual sentient bots because Windblade mentions the Torchbearers and calls them them. Up until that point, I really felt like almost every combiner in this show was like the Energon or PCC ones. Sentient only in combined mode and when they're separated they're just drones controlled by the main consciousness. But turns out they really are individuals. They just don't have the budget to show them separated. Also, apparently if you kill the combiner, all the individual members die.

But back to Primal, I keep waiting for him to get his Optimal upgrade because I feel like if ANY character in this show is going to get his full leader class form, it'll be him. Plus, he's been pretty useless so far. I'm expecting him to call in his armor any second. Especially after that fight with Megatronus.

Problem with that is Prime wasn't a commercial success so i doubt HasTak's going to try reach for a show like that ever again. Hell Japan didn't even go past season one because they didn't like the darker atmosphere. Now granted that is the homeland of the weeb but the sales figures dont lie.

Hasbro made Prime fail with their shenanigans. Prime was great until season 3/beast hunters, I did like Predaking though.

As for TF anime, I would go with Bones, Pierrot, or if dreams really do come true Ufotable.

I think you’ve forgotten about things like bulkheads super serious permanent life changing injury getting all better on its own after like 2 or 3 episodes, among other storyline problems that were pre season 3

The show isn't flawless. There are a few things I could nitpick but overall the show was the best TF show to me. The good outweighed the bad.

It was definitely the best of the recent crop of shows but there was so much squandered potential because the makers wanted it to seem dark but only wanted to permanently injure or kill named decepticons outside of the first episode. Their inability to change up the status quo ultimately made the show a pretty shallow attempt to be dark and mature

I don't blame the writers for that. I blame Hasbro and their reps involved with the show and their demands. Its their brand and they are paying for the product. I think Hasbro needs to get out of their own way and let the writers write. Prime and most of the IDW comic run has been decent or better and they keep coming with crazy demands and requests, ruining any headway they was making.

I agree, that’s why I said makers instead of singling out the writers. Everyone involved with production had a hand to play in it. Personally I still see beast wars as the best objectively written series for transformers followed by animated then beast machines and I’d place prime as the 4th best written

That was due to the Beast Hunters concept being thrown at the writers at the last minute thus having them had to shorten certain arcs to make room. Granted some arcs they did shorten was not from that but it's a good guess that the Bulkhead arc was one that was likely longer before.
