I mean the prototype, which you've been bashing. It's mistransformed.

I know you mean the prototype. But there's no actual way to tell it's mistransformed because there's no CG image to compare it to.

I guess I got my answer, but I do feel it will need heel spurs and a thicker thigh in combined mode. As for gorilla arms it\'s a primitive based combiner so it kinda fits

Nobody actually knows if it's mistransformed. I don't know why people are so confident that it is.

What does that even mean? From my "experience" I don't think I've ever actually seen a grey prototype mistransformed at a convention. Especially when they show it off in that exact same configuration on a panel slide.

I think it's more a matter of 'high hopes'. People are betting on it being mis-transformed to explain the weirdness.
No one will truly know until there are either full CGI renders or in-hand reviews.

I'm still going to get this combiner but I also kinda want to see if swoops wings could be pegged into the back of the torso

I'm actually basing it on popular characters that previously underwent annoying, unnecessary gimmicks.

For example. TR Galvatron didn't need a Titan Master or a 3rd mode. But there were 2 things that stopped it from being a deal breaker.

    1) It's still miles better than that Deluxe 2.0 crap they made 10 years ago
    2) With some modifications and some 3P add on's he becomes exceptional.

That upcoming Voyager class Starscream that fans/collectors have been asking for does not IMO. And as for the Dinobots, I'm only buying the Deluxe's and that one Legends class. Grimlock you can keep while I stick with my Exclusive Platinum FOC version.

I have the FoC version as well, and he's a pain in the neck to transform. Plus the Starscream voyager doesn't look half-bad. Just about every picture we've seen he's been mistransformed in some way.

And you were saying something about characters with annoying, unnecessary gimmicks? Then why are you picking up the deluxe Dinobots with the CW scramble city gimmick when I know people have been clamoring for Voyager-sized ones for a long, long time, and are upset that they are a combiner team.

FOC Grimlock is in no way's perfect. W/O that Iron Factory upgrade kit his T-Rex mode is a wreck.

But it's because I bought the FOC version plus the Upgrade that I'm not going to waste money again on another subpar Grimlock. I'm only shopping for quality figures moving forward.

Did I not give a clear enough example of some that still get a pass via Galvatron???

In the case of the Dinobots there are no updated Dinobots in CHUG history save for Grimlock. The deluxe dino's don't look terrible, but the gimmick they slapped some of these deluxe's with are still disappointing. Some more than others!

So it's okay to criticize the Deluxe Dinobots and still purchase them while criticizing the upcoming Leader Class OP, Voyager Grimlock and Starscream and skipping them.

There's really no excuse for how bad Volcanicus looks, and I foresee some unfortunate engineering problems given Grimlock's torso mode. As a member previously stated, the deluxe Dinobots are really effected by the inclusion of the combiner gimmick. Another problem is that, besides Grimlock, all the Dinobots are deluxe class. At least Slog was a voyager in the AOE line.

Relax boys, we all know that there are gonna be 2 versions of these (Hasbro & TakaTom) so we just might be in for a little surprise when all is revealed in due time. :)

I still think he looks great. Or at least, good enough in all modes, plus I love the CW combiners. Grimlock seems a bit mistransformed (his entire left side seems to be falling apart) but once properly transformed I’m more than sure I’ll dig him even more.

I also love Menasor so...ymmv. Either way, happy with the possibility of getting all dinos in Generations style!

Every time this is mentioned, it's always stated as a fact but NOTHING is given to show it as one. Without the combiner gimmick the Dinobots still won't be voyager class, they still won't be Leader class. There is nothing I can see that is hampering them. For Christ's sake, they even have Swoop's Dino head on his chest covering the connector! If only CW had engineering like that! As love as I love CW, they seriously needed some remolding magic like Swoop's.
How about this? Since everyone loves how G1 they are, how about the fact all the G1 Dinobots were all the same size?

I'm not afraid to get some PE kit that helps with most of his issues.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the separate hands and feet we'll be getting in PotP - I love the PE (and KO) sets, but would also love to have some more diversity in footwear for my combiners. Either the stock Hasbro ones and/or some new PE molds work, but it's going to get expensive
