I did not, I was actually unaware of this. I think I want the blue but, what's the overall consensus for this? Blue is cartoon accurate right?

I'm not sure if you noticed but there was also two different packing styles for Swoop as well. One bot mode and one dino mode.

    The plot thickens....

I wouldn't be surprised if he's two per case or whatever with one being the red variant.
Your mother/wife/sister/daughter after a night out with the boys.....?

That's what a few people were saying about a Takara Liokaiser and look what happened with that.

If you think about it, this is a really nicely proportioned torso compared to the motormaster one so i am very thankful. I am sure 3p companies will make a chestpiece (hopefully like shuraking) and other bits to improve stability. Not to mention the eventual upscaling to voyager and leader size.

Meanwhile, in IDW, offscreen the Dinobots are reunited and stumble upon the Enigma of Combination... only to become hypnotized by a human using Cybertronian tech. :|

Very cool this is becoming a toy. I'd prefer if in the fiction though they don't combine. Not everyone needs to combine and the Dinobots should be bad ass enough on their own. See Season 3 where they skirmish with the Predacons in Call of the Primitives.

Perfect Effect has been keeping their Perfect Combiner brand running for precisely this reason.

    I don't think it's *that* inevitable.

Slash is probably gonna ride on Volcanicus's back. She likes piggyback rides anyway. ;)

IMO, based on what I could see in the pics I believe you're referring to, it looked like the bot mode was the official packaging style because there was an inner tray; the dino mode looked like it was just sitting at the bottom of the package without a tray.

I actually think Menasor's torso proportions are passable as long as you reposition Motormaster's legs. Meanwhile here with how Grimlock's legs have to be configured I don't see any possible way to remove that stupidly wide shoulder configuration. And even in the context of itself it requires extra partsforming in HFGs just so the waist doesn't look really skinny (which is especially bad if you want to use those extra HFGs to attach at the ends of his feet for more stability)

Honestly though I never liked the idea of dinobots combining and I'm not going to waste money trying to fix a bad combined mode I'm never going to use. I am excited about potential upscale KOs though.

Burn me at the stake, but I think Volcanicus looks decent.

Yeah I don't mind how he looks at all. I actually think he's suitably scary and monstrous looking, which feels appropriate to me. (Plus... see aforementioned resemblance to Frank the bunny from Donnie Darko.... *Shudder*)

Well after a nice time taking all of Hascon in, and after feeling an initial repulse towards the combined mode, I've got to jump into the 'Volcanicus is growing on me' wagon.

Granted, the prototype doesn't hold together well and has some funky proportions. The extra hands for padding don't drive me crazy. Sludge's neck isn't gonna be a happy banana in my display either.

But all in all, there's a badassery beating in this thing's core, and as with other CW offerings, there will surely be several possibilities for fan configurations, and some paint.... and on top of that, the reasonably expected PE add-on.. (torso, back padding? Feet? Mega-frickin'-sword?) this is one combiner I could come to love.

With all of the upcoming combiners still, I wouldn't rule out a good TakTom LioKaiser just yet. ;)

You can never trust Hasbro's displays. I don't think they've ever assembled a Combiner correctly in any display. I have a feeling that once people start making fan modes or adding third party accessories, he'll be a great looking Combiner.

Sludge leg gives epic stomp power! Also the neck can be rotated so that it does not stick out.
