Yeah I never thought of that! I personally like a toothpick.
UPDATE TIME!!!! I finally found a cheap matching paint for Primes hands! Folk Art enamels cobalt hue gloss acrylic. I reccomend a touch of black mixed in because it is a tad bright. I didn't do this because I don't need it to match perfectly and mainly I don't want to screw it up. Pic attatched. BEHOLD!!!!!!
Quick update. I was mistaken on adding black to the blue to darken. If you just let it dry it will darken naturally and match perfectly.
Blue hands and a rounded matrix makes me like this figure a whole lot more!!!! Good job bro!!!
Thanks man! Glad I could show this figures true potential!
That, is so much better than the original.
Thank you so much!! Im glad people enjoy these. Its inspiring me to keep doing them!
Well... it was bound to happen. I made a mistake on this guy. Of course right?
anyway I made some streaks in the blue and after a second coat it's a completely different color. well i have to strip off the paint add the aforementioned black to keep the proper color and some water to keep to keep the streaks out. Ill update when its done.
Well... after 3 coats on the fingers and 7-9 on the backplate because it didn't cover too well for some reason, I got a clean coverage and nailed the color. One drop of black to about 3 of the folk art blue color and 3-4 drops of water. Whatever makes a nice thin paint. And VOILA!!! Perfect match. I also did some accents on Orion Paxs arms.
Also out some silver on the feet
Also if anyone has a lead on one of these guys for super cheap please let me know, I have an idea for a custom. NEMESIS PRIME!
Be patient. I'm very sure Hasbro will release nemesis prime based on this mold. Look how fast they reused Rodimus
I know they will sometime but in m just worried they'll make it some kind of exclusive to a con or a store and then that can bump up the price. Only reason I just want a custom is because the normal Prime alone was a little above my budget and I don't want to go over again.
Quick question for you guys. Does anyone know if any of the masterpiece matrixes for this guy?? Mp10,mp1 etc.
Wet toothpicks work really well too, especially if you're using acrylic. I use both the tiny screwdriver and wet toothpicks but lean towards the toothpicks so I don't have to worry about scratching the plastic as much.
This looks fantastic! What yellow/orange is that for the arms and lights? I've never seen a yellow quite so strong/solid.
It's called moon yellow, it's a satin finish multi surface acrylic from folk art!
You're welcome bro, I'm very glad you found it to be encouraging. You will make some great friends around here with that appreciative mindset. Your work is excellent, so never quit for sure. Super Optimus approves!
