this is super easy mod, doesnt require any 3d printer, cutting, drilling etc etc. one just have to apply a nail polish to "thicken" the combiner port and grimlock's "shoe". Once done it is quite solid and will not fall off.
the only downside is one will have to sacrifice 2 combiner bots for their ports in my case, i use wheeljack and smokescreen as i dont see them as a combiner at all, but it is not permanent as i can always revert back to original. enjoy the pics. 1edbd7c4-8da5-4ba7-a086-36a665df0a5d.jpg ce4b4f4d-d079-4964-b484-f80646081df0.jpg 170bd16b-ca3f-492a-803f-2eb2b1ef3f06.jpg cf79cdc3-37c7-4024-b787-b05e7a2ccf18.jpg

You can buy the combiner cubes on Shapeways.

I'm not sure, but l think there was a 3rd party throne for Grimlock that had clear red guns and swords.....maybe from there

Excellent. I might copy this since I have plenty of extra combiner ports that I got from Shapeways from other abandoned projects back then.

Very cool... I actually considered using Grim's combiner ports for this before, but didn't want to lose the ankle tilt capability of the HFGs, so I went a different route.

Nice! The combiner plug is only held in by friction though, right? How much tilt can you get before it pops out?

Printed in hatchbox silver. I think I want to print another set at 103% width/depth and 98% height, then heat anneal it in the oven (~150F for an hour, then allow to cool to room temp).

Edit: Added a second file work in progress to the thingiverse page. Needs to be printed with no support material. Might fail, haven't printed it yet.

Good looking stuff! Quick question: did you remove the joint on the foot when you painted it, or did you just leave it on?
