Continuation, I believe, since at the end of "World's End" we see Jack orient the spinning map so that the fountain of youth (along with the appropriate historical expedition) is visible, and the Fountain of Youth is mentioned in the trailer. Still, this looks surprisingly good. AWE was okay, but here we have Jack Sparrow being all crazy awesome again like in the first film. Plus zombies.
New Trilogy actually: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/movies-television/346244-potc-5-6-officially-greenlit-disney.html
Looks great to me. Almost like a reboot of the series without actually rebooting it. Johnny Depp is going to steal the show as usual with a little help from Geoffrey Rush. I hope Gibbs and the rest of the Black Pearl crew have at least some small roles.
Don't count your chickens. Disney will cancel those immediately if Stranger Tides doesn't do well at the box office. But this new trailer just sent my hopes SKYROCKETING. I can't wait, and lol at Barbossa's fancy new duds, and Penelope Cruz so far. "Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing that again!"
If it turns out to be as good as it looks, I really hope it does well at the box office. Can't get enough of these movies.
I'm going to bet Blackbeard. Barbossa's been established to be a bit of a fashion freak, with his boots and all. Not to mention his pirate hat with an ostrich feather.
Meh. I donno, after Worlds end I kind of lost interest in this series. Also, I liked the character of Jack Sparrow, but after Willy Wonka and the Mad Hatter, old Johnny's zany effeminate character thing is starting to look like a crutch.
Barbossa's peg leg. There are pics floating around the net that show Hector wearing a bright blue sock, which will be replaced in post with the peg leg. Edit: like this one, for example.
So... did Barbossa ALWAYS have a missing leg, just hidden beneath his boots, or is it a new development?
cap'n jack, yay! so awesome. i cant stand penelope cruz because anytime she opens here mouth she sounds ridiculous. is it just me?
