Guys, I was online looking up some pictures of Armada Thrust and came across the picture of BM Thrust. With a new head, maybe a couple of new weapons, do y'all think he could be an updated Technobot Afterburner? I know I had heard some people were trying to come up with a new Afterburner without much luck, so I thought I would throw this out for discussion. If I get time this week I am digibash it to see how good/bad it would look.

cybertron ransack definitely makes for a good afterburner figure

especially if you swap out the front wheel for a energon combiner limb socket port and add a set of rear wheels slavaged from energon sledge/bonecrusher's lower legs to complet the look

I like to see someone do that. Afterburner is the hardest one I think to come up with. Agreed thtat Ransack would make a good one.

Ditto. Thrust is far too offbeat a mould to work as update for pretty much any other TF; just because he's a bike, doesn't automatically make him a suitable homage. He's also got that spindly, insectois sort of look, which really doesn't say 'Afterburner' at all. Ransack's the obvious choice, although of course it still depends on what you intend to do with him and what scale you need.

Actually, that's a pretty cool idea, imo. Ransack would make for a better "Classics" update to Afterburner, but this idea would, imo, make for a nice Transtech version of him.

Transtech? Yeah, maybe; he could fit in with that style without too much hassle. I'd still picture Afterburner as being a bit more burly, though, to be honest. And if you could come up with a means of turning him into a half-decent limb bot, I'd be mightily impressed... :p

I kind of have to agree with the Ransack idea, and it wouldn't be difficult at all.

Although while looking for something I came across an image on another board and immediately thought it would make a good Afterburner:

Of course looking past the CyKill digibash on it, heheh.

I'm not sure what line it's from or what size it's available in, but if I were to make one, that is the mold I would try to get a hold of.

Ditto I like to know where it is from also.

Chaulk this bad idea I had up to lack of sleep and being sick. I think what appealed to me was the cool futuristic bike mode but the robot is definitely too weird.

I had a feeling it was Robotech, but my search came up empty. Good find Dak.

I also had a feeling it wouldn't be small... hahaha.

Ah well, looks like Ransack would be the better choice after all :)
