Saw this over at Seibertron, and I quote...

    Potential Third-Party Abominus in Development
by El Duque » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:50 am

"Found these while digging through the thread over on ACToys that has the TFC Star Cats combiner and Dino-Combiner. Very early sketches, but it looks like they may be considering the Terrorcons"

I'm surprised this never "news" made it to TFW2005.

If this is news and it does turn out TFC is making Abominus I dunno how I will feel about it.

I think Abominus should be reserved for Fansproject. Their TF manga fusion will turn make this set the first set anyone would buy for the Alt modes. The picture in my head of a FP Abominus is one of beauty and I know FP will top that, they always do.

Meh, the sketches aren't news. Anyone can do concept sketches of a toy, doesn't mean it will happen.

When we see an actual prototype, that'll be news.

I figured if a silhouette or a horrible clay mock up of a figure gets news this was up to snuff.

You can likely ascertain from my username that I'm totally down with any kind of Abominus.

The TF-C aesthetic used on Devastator would be an odd fit for Terrorcons. I'd agree that FansProject might be better suited for it, especially since they did non-vehicle alt modes with the insecticons.

Nowadays anything is possible, is just a matter of which 3rd party will initiate to do which figure.

TFC needs to deliver the stuff it's already committed to before I can even pretend to give a shit about their next project. I've got $600 set aside for them, that's enough.

seriously, all they need to do is update the G1 versions of the toys with articulation and detailing in voyager scale. And I don't mean the same actual molds, but similar transformations (if it ain't broke, don't fix it).

If they pull off hercules in voyager scale, it seems reasonable to think they could successfully do G1-ish dinobots like this (the 5 might as well be considered a combiner that people would want full sets of, even though they don't combine). They would compliment Herc nicely too. ;)

However I, too, don't care for that dino-combiner they're doing, so will conveniently ignore that and hope they cando better.

Well, whatever. Point is my Transformers budget is relatively high and it's stretched quite thin. The only enthusiasm I can muster for the drawing is that, being a drawing, it probably won't happen for quite a while.

So what... 2012 going to be the year of 3rd Party Gestalts?

Beginning of 2012 will see TWO completed Devastators by Maketoys and TFClub.

The G1Uppers (while *still* just a head) might have their upgrade for the TFA Stunticons... though at this point I'm very skeptical.

FP's long-rumored Stunticons are a possibility... and what, now an Abominus?

Should be interesting... but if so... A LOT of wallets will be empty on TFW.

I'm all for third party combiners :D  May stop collecting anything else if they keep this up. A complete set of classic style G1 combiners would just be amazing.
if they're roughly the same size.
