I picked up ROTF Arcee today and immediately set to work trying to get her into a suitable form for combination with Chromia. This is what came of it:

In order to get Arcee into Armcee form and keep her stable, her normal(no knife) arm has a wheel shaped gear near the elbow that can peg into a hole as seen in this picture

I thought their combined mode was also one wheeled? And on top of that, the three bikes formed what looked like reversed "7" shapes and looked like a three-lined spiral. I'd post a pic, but I lack the one I am refering to.

I don't know what picture you're talking about, but I can't get at Arcee's connection port when she's only on one wheel(like in bike mode).

No, that's not what I meant, I meant the combined form of all three bikes is still on ONE Wheel.

I also located the picture I was refering to:

So it looks like Chromia and Flareup/Elita-1/whateverthehellhername is form the arms (with the latter possessing the head of the combined form), and Arcee forms the body's base and one support wheel system.

...*facepalm*I thought that would be the picture you were talking about -_- It's a recolored version of Flareup. Original is ALL PURPLE.

Yep. I don't get why this was ever mistaken for the combined mode, since it was clear from the panel that it was only Flare-up transforming.

    Yeah, except for two things:
One, that picture looks nothing like the concept art for Flare-Up/Elita-1; that art shows the bike with a wheel making up the entire left hand
Two, that wheel-foot is way too small in proportion to the rest of the robot for it just to be one bike transformed.
Coloring errors happen all the time. If I showed you a picture that proved that there were actually two Starscreams in the G1 cartoon, you'd (hopefully) point out that one of them was obviously a coloring error.

Except it shows a transformation from the bike to the bot.

I recall it just being the blue and purple bikes jumping into the air, then some speed lines, then boom bigger robot that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Ratchet.

That picture is recoloured from the first issue of the movie adaptation comic. What the person that recoloured it has mistakenly cut out is the rest of the panel, that clearly shows only the purple bike changing into that robot.

That is not the combined form of the Arcee sisters.

hell, did idw even know what flareup was even gonna look like before they stuck her in the comic? They could've made up the design for the third bike for the comic adaptation.

It was so obvious that it was just the one bike transforming that I was surprised that it was so widely accepted to be the combined form.

Given that Megatron looks like Tf07 Megatron half the time in the comic, and Jolt doesn't crack an appearance, I'd say they didn't have their hands on a lot of solid material when they made the comic.

Here is my stab at it: [IMG]

I figure that when combined they would just be a bigger version of what they already were Motorcycle Mermaids. Also we know Elita-1 will have the head and this leaves more space for her to fit in the middle. Not to mention Chromia`s wheels look pretty cool this way.

I don't know about the final combination, but i'm sure that we'll have plenty of other combinations .
    Target master Arcee with Chromia:thumbs2:

Looking at all this, I would say this would almost certainly mean that Flareup will be a new mold. I dont see how a repaint could fill that gap...Unless they abandoned the whole combination.

for me in this picture you see that chromia and arcee are the arms and flareup is the one wheel feet if you look close to these picture you see characteristics of each sister on the limps
    exp
    chromia hand gun
    arcee blade arm
flareup wheel stand from one side
    as the other 2 sisters
arcee has 2 wheels stand and chromia's wheel is hold from both sides

here is the link of that interview from seibertron.com
so you can see the style
Seibertron.com interviews Arcee bike creator Will Kenefick of RetroSBK

Okay. You are aware that's the robot mode given to the purple bike in the comic adaptation, not the combined mode, right?
