Backpack ruins it entirely - but I agree that it's probably not transformed right.

Looks like a nice filled out figure.

Makes you scratch your head when you look at the hollowed figures in the Generations line?

I do like him, but I hope the kibble really does fold up as grimlockgavez says. That backpack is agregious...

That's actually a pretty cool looking toy. I'm kind of hoping for a Movieverse style Prowl out of this mold. Seems humanoid enough for an Autobot (something I didn't expect out of a movie Decepticon.)

I like the dark blue. If you could give him a 2007 movie head he'd look solid. The big hands and toed feet are a little weird but otherwise the proportions are nice.

I really don't know how to feel about this. I already have issue with Barricade being in the movie because he's supposed to be dead (And we all know Bay won't address this). But the figure really doesn't have me that excited. I always loved the alien aesthetic that the first trilogy bots had and now that AOE forward is trying to make the bots look more "human" it leaves me with mixed feelings. I really don't understand the rational behind making them have more human proportions and less robotic parts. They're alien robots for crying out loud.

But I digress. This figure does look pretty good. Personal aesthetic preferences aside it's great to see that Hasbro is putting a bit more love into the movie figures. AOE took a real dive in quality and it's good to see they are trying a little harder again. Transformation does appear to be about as complex as current Generations toys - which is fine. The legs kinda bother me because it appears they're just "leg looking" panels tabbed on top of car which looks a little off. His wheel shoulders aren't CGI accurate but it is a nice nod to the original design for Barricade. The backpack is not as bad as people are making it out to be. It seems like leaked photos of figures always have something mistransformed and it's the backpack in this case.

There is an armature visible in the back windshield which does suggest that it folds more. I think it won't fold underneath the roof piece but rather fold up and over onto the back of the roof. So, instead of having a long backpack that interferes with leg movement, he'll have a little wider of a backpack which I think is forgivable.

Paint is still lacking but Takara can improve that. Overall, it'll come down to price for me. I'll wait for official reviews and wait to see the movie to decide if I care enough about the character to pick it up, but this is promising stuff. I look forward to more Hasbro. Don't let us movie fans down.

Edit: Also unfortunate that it isn't an officially licensed Ford Mustang. I really love the new updated model of the Mustang and would have liked to see it represented in toy form. I feel like that's where the original move lines thrived because they had the rights to make accurate vehicle modes.

Everyone seems to be bumm'n that there is no branding on the figure. But as I recall there's no branding on TF5 Barricade.

So in essesence its on point, and it even has the dual exhaust you can see it on the heel spur. Only thing missing... Spoiler Alert!
But hey, less money paid for branding = more money that can g into the toy. Which I'm ok with.

From the front Barricade looks pretty good. Almost doesn't look like a Bayformer at all. The backpack is awful however.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what DeadEnd looks like.

Am I alone in thinking they missed an opportunity in not making that huge backpack be a riot shield? The first thing I thought of when I saw it was those transparent shields used in riot gear. I wonder if it's easily detached and can be made into one.

I am definitely liking the look of this guy. Especially love that he has the wrist gun.

Edit: He has his baton too?! Okay, I definitely need this guy.

I like this new Barricade, really reminds me of the first movie Barricade figure or maybe the DOTM figure? Damn it I still need to get the DOTM deluxe. But as a fan of Barricade and him being my very first Transformer this is a must have for me, can't wait to see more of the figures in the line hopefully at Toy Fair too!
