Depends on if you are doing a sub group like the Wreckers, Elite Guard, Mayhem Squadron or something similar. I could see certain molds working together, maybe with a remolded head here or there. I mean, put a new head on Animated Prowl and you could have another Junkion. You could do the Classics Seeker molds as reformatted Starscream clones from Animated, thus giving us Slipstream, Ramjet, etc, that went unproduced in Animated. The possibilities are there.

They need to hint at more than this, before I get excited.

Hold up.... wasn't the teaser for Botcon an "invasion" of some sort?

Maybe there's something crossing over into the TFA verse or vice versa.

If that's the case, I can guess this year's troopbuilder.

Hmm...Animated characters done in classic style and Classic style characters done in Animated style?

I haven't been excited by a Botcon set since 2007. I only tagged along for 2010 because my brother is a big fan of Generation 2.

Ah yup. Definitely voicing what I am feeling.

Maybe they will go and create a whole new universe again like they did when they came up with Shattered Glass. An Animated+Classics world of some strangeness.

Either way, if they do an entire set of figures all from Animated molds and/or all from Classics, I'll probably like it.

If they do like a Classics-verse Bulkhead, Blackarachnia and maybe Lockdown, that'd be cool, but I don't really know where they could go with this. Maybe a Megatron made from an Energon Bulkhead or something. Either way, I never get these things anyway, I can never afford it

I'm taking it to mean exactly what it says. There will be Animated and Classics molds in the set. Anything more is speculation.

I don't believe it on words alone. I'd need to see picture proof to believe it.

Several new heads, i'm guessing Classics from Animated molds, and the ones that have less overtly cartoonish proportions.

On the other hand, is it possible the information is just plain incorrect?

I think it's fairly unlikely Hasbro are going to make a mistake like that again,

IE: Even if it is a highly desirable set, Hasbro won't give FP the go ahead unless they're absolutely sure they're not repaints/retools they won't do themselves.

Indeed. Is there any reason at all to believe this guy knows anything? As I see it, it's some random guy who posted a single sentence. It's less than a rumor. Why are we discussing this?

I like G2, but Breakdown was what really attracted me to this set since I want to mold copies of his head in G1 colors. I already have 2 copies of Generations Red Alert to use for his body.

My money is still on 2011 being a RID based set. Next year is the 10th anniversary of RID and they did Sky Byte this year and Side Burn as the freebie next year so it would make sense.

hmmmmmmm some vague hint about animated and/or classics I'd say those are some safe bets rather then solid evidence.

really? to me the BW set was a bit of a anti climax. Now the 08 Shattered Glass set... that's a set I'd fly across the sea to pick up

Maybe not in terms of story or molds, but I think the 2006 boxset probably had the best cohesion of any boxset, since it was the core team of Maximals. Every other boxset has sort of been an arbitrary mix of good guys and bad guys. I'd be curious to see what they could do with a set of, say, Animated Prime, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Prowl and Bulkhead.
