What if Hasbro has an Ultra G2 Tank Megatron already in the works? I just got the legends figure, and since Hasbro said they can't even re-release the gun Megatron, surely they'd want to be able to have a Megatron toy on the shelf, and this would make the most sense.

Also, what would be neat to counter that, is an Ultra Optimus Prime. Just redesign Powermaster Optimus Prime (next year is 25th anniv, they should touch upon a little of everything) and have him be nice and articulated yet still function like the original....

While it does seem odd for them to give megs a new mold already again. They just might to emulate the whole Gun in g1 then tank in g2. While handling Galvatron closer to the marvel comics or japanese type origin of the character.

Almost kinda makes me wonder who's really designing this with the planned releases. Many of these bios, and story nods seem very Japanese G1 continuity based except for Unicron. Galvatron especially with his deluxe mirroring the scramble city part 2 assumption of Galvatron as Megatron's new second in command. (The ambiguity in the bio doesn't help matters, as they never had gotten the movie until far later so Galvatron was a mystery.)

Personally, I hope not. As cool as it'd be, I'd like to see more new characters. I already have my perfect Megatron and Prime. Though I wouldn't be adverse to target getting magnus and skywarp again. =D

It would easily be one of the best things that Hasbro could do for the 25th anniversary. I'd definately buy it.

If Hasbro redesigns the G2 Hero Megatron mold, say making the tank gun flip to the back ala G1 Megs gun barrel and adding a BFG that transforms into a missile launcher, and released with G1 paint scheme, that would be AN UTTER WIN!!

It would be a cool idea, but I think they made him a deluxe for three reasons. First, Galvatron at that size looks really good next to Titanium Scourge. Second, the Cyclonus being released will be in a deluxe size. Third, deluxe sized figures so closely tied to Unicron would look more in place than say an Ultra sized figure.

Just a guess. I'm probably wrong...

Fourth, he's the same size as Rodimus... so now all the uberfans who like to recreate G1/Movie scenes with their toys have something to work with.

According to the Hasbro folks at Botcon, Galvatron was made for the deluxe size class because there weren't enough tanks being released in the smaller size classes.

    Yes, that's the truth.

Though he really does work well with his Deluxe sized minions so I've got no bones with it.

I demand an explanation for the damned gray hook on his left shoulder!

Every time I sit down at my desk the damned gray hook mocks me because it knows I have no friggen clue what it's there for!
