Just found this on a Dutch forum. Keep in mind that no source was provided and that the Dutch prices don't necessarily have to be that of the entire EU. But considering the current, already insane prices for TFs in Europe, this is likely genuine. I also converted the costs to US dollars, so that you American folk know how much it is.

Here I thought that it couldn't get worse. :banghead:

BTFA • Toon onderwerp - Benelux zo goed als Transformerloos?

EDIT: Confirmed by a Dutch eBay store owner who normally gets his movie products from the same source the toystores do. :(

€74,95 - Leader <-??????? WHAT? Man 59,99 € was heavy, but this is much more than the import-prices! I got my DOTM Sentinel for less money (exept shipping of course!)

Alright! Now that is some really good news!
Considering current TFs prices in my country I can get voyagers even cheaper than now! (now they are at 36-38 EUR, so why not welcome mechtech voyagers for 35 EUR with arms wide open, right?). Yaay, deluxes will be only 1 EUR more expensive. Leaers only +7 EUR (up from 68 and no, we never got leader Starscream, only endless hordes of battle damged Primes).

Ok, sarcasm aside, that is pretty sick. Is it Hasbro's crazy EU pricing or greed of our retailers? And I bet the stores in Slovakia will, as usual, charge even more than in the Wester Europe. We are such a rich country, I am so proud of us. I said it last year and I am going to repeat my self - the prices are killing this hobby for me, seriously.

You know what... to me TFs are like McDonalds. If you want to eat cheap and fast in the USA, you go to McDonalds. In Slovakia, if you go McD, considering our hourly wages, it's something special. And it's dumb, because for the price of some of the premium burgers (only, no drink, no fries), you can almost have a lunch menu at a restaurant.
Same with TFs - 132 EUR for Supreme Devastator, why not?! And we rarely get anything past wave1. Super overpriced wave1. You know what is still warming shelves here - Animated bumper battlers @15 EUR each!

BBTS and eBay, come and get my money. Because even at on-line prices (the US guys like to complain about), even with Priority Mail international, and even 20% import tax I will get those toys still cheaper, then in our retail.

Yeah, it's insane, though not much of a surprise, with Starscream costing 65 here in Holland. :(

Why do TFs cost so much more in the Netherlands than they do in the UK and Ireland?

Not that they're cheap here, but it's generally something like this, these days.

    Delxues 13 euro
    Voyager 25 euro
    Leaders 45 euro.

....T-twenty bucks plus shipping? Excuse me, I'm going to cry in a corner now.:cry  :cry  :cry

That's something I've been wondering myself. It's weird, because from what I heard Hasbro UK is also basically in charge of Hasbro Europe. Maybe it's the stores interfering with things?

And despite this latest revelation of the shit state of affairs for European collectors many US collectors will continue to act like they're the hardest done by if prices are raised by a dollar or one item gets released elsewhere first.

Hasbro is an American company, therefore they should cater first and foremost to their main target audience!

    Also, entitlement.

Ah well. These things happen. I'd rather have the MP version anyways, but damn, wouldn't have said no to a 30 bucks leader Screamer. :(

Have we seen our prices yet? I know Andy posted a ton of stuff after UK toyfair but I don't recall seeing the prices.

We USED to pay more here, but the Euro/GBP exchange rate shifted in our favor, and most retailers passed on the decrease in prices.

I'd be happy enough to pay 15 for a Deluxe, 30 for a Voyager, or 50 for a Leader, if there was a steady flow of new product. But there isn't. So the cash gets spend elsewhere.
