Hate this time of the year...a possible Nights game on the Wii...and now this...Damn you.

But if it aint, i am gonna be so stoked. And i wish it'd be more Nintendo based (Zelda, Metroid, etc) than just Mario based.

If that were real and had Hyrule in the game. I would totally buy it. Too bad this is under the "too good to be true" catagory. But also, I think we could see Kingdom Hearts III for the Wii. Square Enix is a company with no loyalty, so I could totally see the series jump ship.

Now that one's just too absurd to be real, especially with that hokey name... I'm still holding my breathe on NiGHTS at least.

I don't think it's gonna happen. EGM's just pullin' our legs.

"possible"? That's one of the lamest, most obvious April Fool's jokes they've done. I prefer the EGM April Fool's jokes that are more plausible, those are the ones that really work best.

    41 characters... 4-1... April 1.

nevermind that it doesn't make any sense for square to axe their own characters from a game and keep the disney ones...

Who know, Square and Nintendo might think it's a good idea and build from that. I don't think Akuma would have existed if it wasn't for the april fools joke. Square and Nintendo might find this idea cool, and have a RPG type game that travels from Hyrule, the Mushroom Kingdom, Pokemon World, Some Metroid Planet, and so on.

So yeah, it's not real, but hopefully someone at Nintendo think it's cool enough to make real.

this was debunked and found to be an obvious April Fool's joke a few weeks back.

As Shiply said, the "41 characters" was a dead giveaway.

    1992.

Akuma first appeared in Super SFII Turbo, which released in arcades in September 1993. I've never heard one way or another whether Sheng Long inspired Akuma, but it certainly is a popular theory. At the very least ALL of the fake moves were given to Akuma, Ryu and Ken.

that's EGM's April Fools Joke as the Official Nintendo Magazine's supposed AFJ has to with Nights.

It aint the first time EGM did it (like Sheng Long).

But yeah, I BELIEVE IT'S REAL...believe enough and it might come true. Plus now, fanboys will be e-mailing SquarEnix trying to make it reality. Maybe that was the idea all along.

Uh... did you read the article? They said that they got it from that very EGM issue you saw, which is the April issue.

1991: Play as Simon Belmont in TMNT II: The Arcade Game for NES.
1992: Sheng Long trick in SFII
1993: code for 30 lives in Contra 3
1994: probably the lamest one they ever did, intentionally mispelling "Steeets of Rage 3" on the cover.
1997: Sheng Long trick in SFIII
1998: Unlock all Bond actors in multiplayer in Goldeneye. In a crazy turn of events, this one turned out to actually be possible with a Gameshark, just not using the method described in the magazine, because it was based on Rare trying to license the actors, failing, but leaving the art assets on the cartridge.
1999: Gameshortz, boxer shorts with controllers attached to them.
2000: Probably the greatest year ever, solely because of a crazy coincidence. The real joke was an article about Mattel making a new Intellivision to compete with the PS2. But by happenstance, Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64 was announced in the same issue, and everybody thought that was the joke at the time.
2001: An article claiming Sega was selling off a warehouse find of Neptunes (the canceled Genesis/32X combo system)
2002: unlock Sonic and Tails in SSB Melee
2003: nude code for Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball
2004: Lord of the Rings kart racing game
2005: preorder the upcoming "realistic" Zelda game (what would eventually become Twilight Princess) and get a free remake of The Wind Waker using realistic graphics.
2006: Apple to release a portable gaming device called the iGame. Somewhat humorously, Apple started releasing games for the iPod just a few months later.
    2007: Mushroom Kingdom Hearts.

I can't for the life of me remember 1995 and 1996, and apparently neither can Wikipedia, because they're not on there either. I'm fairly sure they've done a joke every year since 1991, so if anyone can fill in those two years feel free. My favorites were probably the Bond code, the new Intellivision, or the Sonic and Tails in SSB Melee ones, because they were the most plausible and the most people bought into them. Sometimes (like Gameshortz or LOTR kart racing) it seems like they aren't even trying..I am to this day convinced they forgot to do one in 1994 and just claimed it was planned to be a spelling error all along. Other times (like the DOA code or the Belmont code in TMNT) they're incredibly clever, because they got input from the developers and made it so that the requirements are just a fraction of a second from being possible, tantalizing gamers into trying just one more time.
