That is sad that NOBODY else even attempted to do anything. I would of turned to another guy and told him I'd take the big one, you take the small one, let's go be heroes.

I mean really, if everyone would have swarmed them, no one except the two with the hammers would have gotten hurt.

Instead, everyone is looking out for themselves and pretending like nothing is happening. Disgusting I tellz ya.

This reminds of that British ex-SAS dude, a WWII veteran that beat the crap out of two muggers who tried to rob him. Sometimes I think that the 30s and 40s generations were the generation of supermen.

It has been my experiance that from a young age, most people are told by police that matters such as this should be left to the police for their own safety. In most cases this is true, if I'm involved in an armed robbery as a bystander at at bank or business of worth, I'm getting the arses of myself and loved ones out of the line of fire. He can have the mother fucking diamond necklace.

A pensioner (ie, a person claiming a pension, therefore an old person) wearing a poppy, foils (ie, stops) a sledgehammer raid (ie a raid being carried out by person(s) armed with sledgehammer(s)) on a jeweller's (a shop which sells jewellry).

    Clearer?

And that, in my opinion, is one of the reasons that society is going to sh!t. People are happy to go "oh it's OK, the police will deal with it" and let things carry on. So the criminals KNOW that no passers by will stop them, and the police won't turn up for 20 minutes.

As doomboy said, I'd happily buy this man a pint or two.

Jesus what do your coppers do with their days? I don't exactly rate the AFP as the best police force in the world, but if word of an armed robbery in progress was handed to them they'd have a special operations group all over that shit ASAP.

That being said, if I ran a pub, that man would never pay for a single drink in my establishment for as long as he lived.

There should be a hyphen between "poppy" and "wearing" in the thread title, otherwise it sounds as if the poppy is wearing the pensioner.

It's a confusing title. I am assuming a poppy is a flower, if so, that is a weird detail to add.

It also sounds like they were raiding jewelers for sledgehammers.

So yeah, it read like "Flower wearing an old man stops thieves from stealing sledgehammers from jewelers"
    :lol

Hell, my family is from England, and I still can't understand their dialect.
