Simple poll guys.... what do you think?
Definitely meeting other fans for me.
I guess screening rooms. I love going to cons and watching movies with my friends, especially if they're on real screens.
This, absolutely. Hanging out with other fans is always the highlight of any convention for me. On a personal level it's fun to meet people you've talked with online, and on a bigger level you can enjoy being in a huge crowd that loves the same nerdy or obscure things that you do.
As for the choices on the poll, I picked guests/attractions since that would be my second choice.
Fans are cool, but I like winning free stuff too
well, the dealer room and meeting other fans is just a given, I wanted to see what you guys were interested in outside of those two things.
The dealer ro-- huh? Oh. Um, I don't know. Dealer room is typically all I care about. Maybe guests?
Simply meeting and talking with others who have a common intereast is enough for me.
I clicked everything. But meeting and just being in the presence of fellow fans is always the best. Dealer room is nice, too. It's like shopping on the internet without being on the internet.
Picking from just the poll options, I selected special guests and attractions. It really is a unique experience to meet the voice actors especially. It's so cool to see how passionate they are about their work. These guys/girls really don't get that much attention, so being able to have a convention where they're pretty much in the spotlight is a cool thing.
Are you planning to organize your own convention? I could be wrong, but it sounds like that's why you're asking.
Events that allow fan participation are usually popular at most cons I've been to. Botcon has the fan film festival, anime cons have anime music video contests that attract HUGE numbers of fans, and most cons have some sort of costume contest. Art contests seem like they would attract attention and participation, but in my experience they don't...I'm not sure why.
I haven't tried costuming at a Transformers con yet, but back in my animu days I was passionate for cosplay. Anything that encouraged costumes was a plus for a convention.
Yeah, it's always fun to see their reactions when they realize that there's a group of people out there who worship them as gods. And it makes me sad that some actors like Frank Welker and Corey Burton won't come to cons. I wish they could see firsthand how much the fans appreciate them.
I'm a toy guy. Sneak peaks at upcoming product is my highest interest.
Other than meeting up with friends at unofficial after hours get-togethers.
