The cops are swarming over a neighborhood just a few blocks away. All over the news, but I can't find a link yet. Something about either a robbery or a hostage standoff. Took me 10 more minutes to get home from work because I had to cut around.
This looks like a job for... SUPER-JUX! With his amazing powers of...I dunno, fire? ...Come on, Super-Jux, save the day already!
"Come out peacefully with your hands up, or we will send Streck in to come and take you out by force"
I'm flattered, but any hostage-taker that was sufficiently hip to read these boards would know that I couldn't be bothered.
I bet that makes you feel nice and safe in your neighborhood. Something like that happened around the corner from my parents house once- a fugitive hid out in a barn owned by some relatives of his, tried to take hostages, and got gunned down by the county sheriffs. I apparently heard the gunshots and just assumed they were firecrackers. The county sheriffs around here have always been pretty gung-ho like that though; even though the county is mostly rural, its one of only like 4 in the state where the sheriff's department have their own tank.
The area was still all blocked off this morning. Stupid police, blocking off one of the busiest streets in town. Cost me another 10 minutes on my way into work.
