It seems like a bunch of BS to me.

There should be no effect on TV poker, just internet poker. Though, the sites have several people who go to tournaments from them. It's one less cheep avenue for players to get into big tournaments.

I know, I am not a big fanatic, I got a few favorites, John Juanda and a few others I like to watch, but if all the websites they listed in the news crawler go down that's a majority of the sponsors of the Tourney's from what I understand.

I love full tilt myself but the .nets are no money sites.

They must be talking about the echeck options.

Correct. The .net sites are play money only. It's the .com sites where real money is used.

The World Series of Poker isn't affiliated with any of the online poker sites, they site have in the past have sponsored players in the tournament.

Or at least to the best of a knowledge it isn't.

WSOP is only a governing body.

Poker After Dark is sponsored majorly by Full Tilt.

Yep. The issue with the sites is a problem with it's availability in states where gambling is not legal. The money laundering seems to be tied into them allow echeck bank withdrawals under another name. Add on top of that the servers are actually located in the Caribbean and the government realizes...they ain't getting a cut of the dough.

The WSOP gets the proper licenses and certifications for where ever they go for tourneys.

There's still house games, charity games, indian casinos and riverboats for folks outside of Vegas. I'm actually great in live because I'm nervous as all get out so I actually hate playing it. House games are nice when you know people but after winning three games in a row at once I was threatened by a couple people so I intentionally lost the last one and left (though they were still pissed because they wanted their money back I'm sure) so that soured me on house games.

I think the major panty huff the US Gov't has is the lack of tax revenue for them from these offshore poker sites.

I am sure that is a large part of it, sure we will never see all the details though.
