First ‘PokePark Wii - Pikachu’s Great Adventure’ Image (October 11th, 2009) « Games News « PokéBeach

"Filb.de has uncovered the first PokePark Wii - Pikachu's Great Adventure image, which appears to be a poster advertising the game. The image does not reveal much other than confirmation that the graphics are not the same as the WiiWare games and that the game is based off the temporary PokePark theme parks that were open in Japan in 2005 and Taiwan in 2006, since it uses their logo in the title. The game is also revealed to be developed by Creatures Inc., the company that owns one-third of the entire Pokemon franchise and that produces the TCG. Click the thumbnail below for a larger picture.

We can now say with certainty, if it wasn't already obvious, that this is the same game Pokemon president Tsunekazu Ishihara was talking about in Famitsu magazine last month since Creatures Inc. is one of the in-house Pokemon companies. Why are they making a game related to the four-year old PokeParks, though? Everyone know Pokemon is all about cross-promotional advertising, and this is just speculation, but perhaps there is a possibility that this game is foreshadowing the reopening of new PokeParks somewhere. Who knows, though? It could just be paying homage to the parks too."

Additional ‘PokePark Wii - Pikachu’s Great Adventure’ Information (October 10th, 2009) « Games News « PokéBeach

"Nintendo has issued a press release discussing the premise of the upcoming Wii game, PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Great Adventure. Heerosferret has translated the information below; some of the information mentioned is already known.

The setting of the game is a PokePark. One day, the mysterious Pokemon Mew comes and tells Pikachu of a crisis taking place so it sets out on an adventure to find out what's going on. It discovers the park, which encompasses various areas such as the forest and sea. Pikachu makes friends with other Pokemon and can use their abilities to clear various attractions in the PokePark. Pikachu is able to use Thunderbolt in battle, but some problems will be too hard for it to handle, so you can call for the Pokemon you have befriended to help you and use their abilities instead. You can get friends through various mini-games as well, such as by chasing after the Pokemon in races (perhaps tag) or by solving quiz questions correctly. One of the park's main attractions will involve Pikachu and your partner Pokemon racing against the clock to beat certain goals, using the Wii remote by waving it around. (Two other attractions, the Marine Slide and Sky Race, were already revealed in the previous news story.) The game will also allow you to take screenshots of your adventures and save them to an SD card."

I change my mind now, that sounds annoying, and seems more like Wii sports + Pokemon.
