Only available direct from nintendo, or via a gameshark/code breaker I believe.

I wouldnt worry about it for too long, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for the DS will be able to trade with any of the GBA games that you plug into the GBA slot (just can't send new pokemon over to the GBA games), and there will be online trading. You should be able to get a celebi from someone online.

The new starters came out a few weeks ago. It includes a fire type monkey so I'm pretty psyched being a fan of apes and fire types. It's been a while since I touched a pokeyman game. The Screens I've seen of the new DS version looks pretty good though.

That was Jirachi, the Wish Maker Pokemon who was also the star of one of the movies. Celebi however was a Gold and Silver generation Pokemon. I think the only possible way to get him is in either Pokemon Colloseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

I had one of those on my old silver, a friend gave me it. It was a red one though, (sparkled red when used). Unfortunately, my Silver, along with my GB colour were stolen.

The DS games are gonna kick so much ass! Just wish there was some way to get the Johto starters in that game. Totodile kicked the most ass.

There are DS versions in the works?

Hmm, I steered clear of Pokemon for years, until I tried out Pokemon Ruby... and got hooked. I may just have to pick up the DS version... assuming the battle graphics are much improved.

Graphics look a little better, but they're making several other improvements.

For starters, they're using the "Time" system once again (first featured in Gold/Silver but then eliminated) which means gameplay will shift between morning, afternoon and night along with your system's internal clock.

No new types this time, but supposedly a lot of new type combos.

A lot of the newly-revealed Pokemon for Diamond/Pearl are evolutions or pre-evolutions of older designs. For example, the first known Pokemon from the Diamond/Pearl world was Munchlax, a pre-evo of Snorlax.

Here's all the new Pokemon thus known (first 3 are the starters)-

Heheh, I can imagine good use of the mic and touchscreen with this...

'Pikachu NO!' *Stabs furiously at the DS screen*.

I want a Dark/Dragon combo. Anyway, I ALWAYS pick the Water starter the first time through the game. Looks like I got a cute little Penguin to play with this time around. Also, those legendary pokemons look cool. I wonder how they'll fit into my "legendary" team:
    Mewtwo
    Kyogre
    Deoxys (attack version)
    Rayquaza
    Groundon
    Lugia

for the DS games, there's some new attack that has you record something over the mic, and then a pokemon will repeat it in battle. cant remember the name of the attack, or the effect of it though.

Do they put the original monsters in the newer games? I might be tempted by the DS one if I can get the old team back together (Charizard, Raichu, Wigglytuff, Polywrath and Geodude).

The list of pokémon available in each game is not out yet. But you can be sure that the pikachu family will be in. Also, if you have Sap/Ruby/Eme/FireRed/LeafGreen, you can trade between GBA and DS games, but the moveset and pokémon must be available in the 3rd generation (GBA games).

has that been set in stone yet? i figured that they would do an upgrade on your gba games, like the Berry System and NationalDex in R/S. i can understand if you wont be able to use them in PC, PB, or PXD
