    Hi all

I need some help, there's a film I've been seeking for years, I saw it when I was about 5 or 6, and can only remember a few bits....

It was an old film, though in colour. I would roughly guess 1950's.

It was about two children, a boy and girl.

There was a woman dressed as a tall cat, dark blue or black. There was a man dressed as a brown dog.

The only scene I remember was this: The children are in a white "heaven" like area with other children, all dressed in white. Some of the other kids ask about the main characters shoes- what are they for? Then a boat comes along and a load of children sail off to be born.

Thats all I'm afraid. Can anyone help?

And the boy and the girl were in love, and heartbroken when one was sent on the boat and the other left behind. Yeah, I remember that scene, too, but have never remembered the movie either! I always thought it was a Shirley Temple movie, tho.

Ah, yes, that's what it is! 'The Blue Bird', starring Shirley Temple, released in 1940. Didn't do very well because it was such a departure for Temple, and depressing...and released the same year as the Wizard of Oz.
