Didn't see a thread devoted to Playmobil and don't know if there's much crossover from other folks.

New 2011 US Playmobil catalog is out and finally we can get our hands on a Special that has been available for some time in Europe:

4693 - Special Police. I don't have one in hand yet but he looks very cool.

If there's other tf fans out there who want to talk Playmobil, I'll edit this top post to have some other links to PM resources.

I buy some of the small sets for the little Lego-compatible tools. :)

(Which also work with TFs now, thanks to the clip system. :thumb )

I don't own any (mainly because if I start another collection I'll combust) but I adore looking at the customs and wargaming things the Playmobil community gets up to.

I have a bunch of castles and knights from before the shitty new building system went into place. They're all in storage but I once had a kick-ass battle set up in my display room.

My nephews recently gave the Playmobil toys I had bought for them when they were younger to me for my sons to have when they're a little older. They were all Knights and Magic sets from the late 90's. I'd like to add a large castle to this collection, but I guess with their new building system the parts can't be combined with the old sets for larger structures. Too bad I didn't buy the large castle available at the time (3666) for my nephews too.

Saw the random packed Fi?ures yesterday at TRU and 5 Below and got a few that would go with the older sets. Also got a couple specials at 5 Below.

Did you get the awesome Merry Men sets? Including the massive beer barrel? If so, I'm jealous. That's the only older set on my want list that I haven't gotten after I squared away the old playmospace theme last year.

I had to get Uncle Sam, the new executioner, zorro, and the mummy. I'm tempted by the guitar hero and wrestler. Are there any sweet figs in the girl's figure line?

Unfortunately, I don't have any sets with the beer barrel, but do have two that included the beer mugs and foam inserts.

I also got the executioner, the hood was easy to feel for in the bag. There are some good girl figures in the blind packs. I got the Princess and Snow Queen (#1 and #3) since they match the Knights theme and I only had one female figure previously.

the FI?URES are friggin' addictive! I just discovered them at FiveBelow for $3 each, and now I want them all...but there's no cheat code...but you can rearrange the doubles.
    Is there a code?

The codes are all over the map, sadly. If you read German, check out klickywelt.de for some aid there.

The best thing to do is to feel the packages for specific parts. Who are you looking for?

Makes me sad that you found them at a discounter since that might mean the line won't go past wave 2 or that one might even be cancelled...

I don't think anyone sells Playmobil around here anymore, except in some specialty stores...which I've yet to find.

Every time I think I see one, it just turns out to be Duplo :(

I know Target used to sell them, but the clerks at Target don't even know what it is.
    sigh.
I was hoping to get the 2011 Advent Calendar...does it even exist?

It exists. Matt at X-Entertainment was going to do his annual Playmobil Advent Calendar strip again this year but decided to give up only two days in. Days one and two were a mailbox and some letters.

There's a store locator on the US page:

    PLAYMOBIL® The Official USA ONLINE-SHOP

    Just punch in your ZIP.

All kinds of stores you might not expect sell the goods but around Minnesota it's usually specialty toy shops or teacher/educational stores.

Are they still in Business? most book stores around here have gone out of business...which speaks so bad of our society.
