Or Game Shark? How does this work? I saw a post on this and would like to be able to play backed up games if I need to but not spend a boat load of money on it.
Any help/explanation of these methods would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I would use swap magic. You need to buy a flip top lid as well.

Start the ps2 with the swap magic disc in, it will tell you to insert the game disc. Open the lid, insert game, push a button and you are set.

I'm not sure Game Shark plays imports or back ups. Swap Magic can be a bit glitchy at times, but I know it works.

Yes, buying the games is always preferable, but sometimes, not possible.

Really? If you're referring to rare and hard to find games, try ebay.

Then save. Or try telling that to the people who make the games you intend to steal.

if you want anything bad enough, you'll find a way to get it legally.

I dunno. I could see his point if he say, wanted to play the Japanese TF G1 PS2 game. Anyone who spent money on that should be reimbursed triple what they paid for that piece of shit.

You can also get the slide card which allows you to unlock and pull the tray out after loading the swap magic discs. The discs work 99.9% of the time in conjunction with the patches from swapmagicfix.com

Gamer: Hey guys! I wanted a copy of your rare and out-of-print game. I was wondering if I should bootleg a copy, in which case you would get absolutely no money for it, or if I should buy it legally from some douchebag on eBay for $500, in which case you would also get absolutely no money for it.

Developer: We can't endorse piracy, but we're happy to see that you're still interested in our old games.

Publisher: FUCK YOU! BUY ONLY OUR NEWEST GAMES, ASSHOLE! IF WE WANTED YOU TO BUY OLD GAMES, WE'D RE-RELEASE THEM! MONEYMONEYMONEYMONEYMONEY! P.S. MONEY!

I think you mis-read the post. He must already own the games if he wants to play back-up copies. You know because backing up a game you do not actually own would be wrong and stuff...

Well to be fair... since I take my PS2 to my office a lot of times.. I'd rather take backups if I had any rather than my real games.

Some of us really do play actuall backups and not pirated copies.

    yup.

I play the english patched version of Fire pro wrestling. In order to do that I had to create a backup and put the patch file on it. I paid $70 for the original. no piracy there.

The original poster had a legitimate question. No need to jump to conclusions.

If playing imports, you will want to buy "magic keys" as well. These are 3 strips of metal that allow you to swap cds in a psTwo without it thinking you popped open the lid.
