Been using it for a long time now.

I've bought some of the stuff I designed. If you do buy your own design, know that it ships from Denmark and takes a few weeks if you live in the states. Its not perfect but it gets the job done.
I designed my Star Wars Cantina using the LDD.

How do they judge the price?

    Certain pieces cost different prices for example;
    Let's say 1 brick = $1.00
    And a 1 windshield brick = $0.50

Well if you make a car out of 10 bricks and 1 windowshield, the set will cost you $10.50...

(These aren't real prices but I'm just giving you an example....)

    It's really neat.

I've never been able to get LDD to work on my PC. MLCAD ftw though.

I remember using the original DOS based version back in College.

I have not tried the official lego tool, but I thought they gauged the price by pallets. In other words, each pallet had a different set of pieces, so if you only used one piece from a pallet, you had to buy the entire pallet?

I don't have pics of the whole Cantina but here are a few quick pics. Keep in mind that it opens up on both sides. Its around 450-500 pieces total, not huge but decent size.
I made it on LDD and ordered it. It was around $35 for the parts if I remember correctly.

I used the original Lego Cantina 4501 as a base and added onto it big-time(putting it lightly).

Thanks for the kind words. I'll take some more complete pics soon.

wow, thats really cool, awesome job and the best part you're the designer.

But I never knew there was a Lego creator program. This is all new to me, so what do you guys recommend to use, LDD or MLCAD and can or do people sell thier orignal designs?

I gew up with Legos I think they are best toys to give a kid, gives them infinite possibilities to create anything. The only legos I buy today are Star Wars but I wouldnt mind making some cool stuff with a some Lego program.

Are you talking about the long tan bricks? They are in the program, or at least they were when I designed it(I haven't checked it lately). I think the LDD only had them in tan or white only, if memory serves.

i mean the long 12 point bricks from any normal lego set, there is none so i can't make bridges quicker, i have to use the the smaller 6 point brick instead :(

Edit: I figured it out, it was simple and i was being stupid :D

I plan on taking some better and more complete pics of the Cantina this weekend most likely. I think I'll just start a separate thread for it when I do.
