lol, it actually doesn't go without saying. my co-worker was trying to convince me that there was some difference between the hdmi cable he spent $40 on at bestbuy vs the one I got from fry's for $3. really as long as they're hdmi 1.4 (1080p) vs 1.3 (720p) you're straight. the rest is just minimal audio and video differences that most people can't tell the difference from and really doesn't warrant massive price increases.

Honestly, if you got a large electronics store nearby like fry's, tigerdirect, etc. they'll have the best deals under $5. Surprisingly tjmaxx and marshalls are next coming in around $5-7 for a cable. Really, don't overspend if you don't need to.

yup. the old fatty's dropped ps2 compatibility too. only the first model ps3's had the ps2 backwards compatibility, so you have to be very careful what you're buying if you're looking for that feature. like quinjester said they all have ps1 compatibility tho.

Just PS2 backwards compatibility. PS1 games are still playable (with a few exceptions).

Actually, some of the later fatty models could play PS2 games, as long as you download the free app from the PSN store.

Not a particularly tragic loss ;)

As a suggestion for a game that most people probably won't mention: Resonance of Fate is pretty darned cool. It's an RPG with a very unique (and highly technical) battle system, awesome graphics, and a great style. You can get it for around $20 and it'll keep you busy for a fair amount of time as you spend hours buying new clothes for your characters and bolting six silencers, eight scopes, and a multitude of other greeblies onto your guns.

If the app is still available I think it will work with your model.

Lmao, no it's not. But I liked all the goodies and extras on the disc. So I kinda miss it.
