I don't think this quite captures the proportions of Milne's design.

 

Fucking awesome looks like it'll be an amazing design. Hope its of similar size to Solidus should compliment him nicely.

 

... this looks pretty bad especially starsaber’s head sculpt and what seems to be just a swivel neck . But this is still early yeah ? Hope it goes on to be great as with their other products .

 

Head looks like it needs some color-tweaks (namely, black ears), but all in good time. Otherwise, my jaw literally dropped...this might be the Star Saber I've been waiting for, and they have a Dezaras coming to boot. It's like my childhood wishlist is coming true these days! Now that I think about it though, dude needs a neck.

Oh jeez!! I've wanted a figure of this design for years! But as that comparison image shows, this one doesn't quite nail it. The details are right, but the proportions and overall style are all wrong.

MMC's gotta make this guy eventually, right??

 

I guess they made him into more of a breast master similar to Deathsaurus. I don't have a problem with that in concept, but the Saber part in the middle doesn't look very good. I do like Starsaber itself though.

 

I think while it's quite close to the art in places, it feels like they had a bit of the G1 Starsaber in it too. I guess they're going for the G1+IDW hybrid idea? Especially since Deathsaurus and Starsaber aren't really rivals in the comics...

Some nitpicks:
- Needs longer jet wings that sits higher in bot mode
- Feet are all wrong; Too blocky and seems like they going to be a pain to pose.
- Needs a sleeker cockpit for superjet mode
- Face seems a bit too G1-rounded; needs more pointy chin. Also head is a bit small.
- Too much busy detailing/color, blue needs to be darker
- Knee armors will benefit being slightly tapered and be separated parts from the shins; They act as the thrusters' fin in jet mode, would be great to have them adjustable.
- LOL what the f*** is that weapon? A short sword?

Funny Observation; The Flametoys statue, while not accurate to the original IDW design, captures the character better than this.

 

They aren't strictly going for Milne's version so much as a hybrid between it and the Lost Light design it looks like.

 

Uggh. I want to love this, I really do, but it just looks so....awkward.

 

Well, we kinda-sorta-knew that this was their next PX-C project (I mean, c'mon they were dropping hints like bombs  ), I just didn't expect it to be this soon  

Can't wait to see a full proto  

 

I like where they are headed with this design, as some have mentioned it does need a little bit of tweaking here and there, and by the looks it is still in design stage so will be good to see them take on the criticism to give us a really great figure, definately needs a bigger sword as well

 

Looks pretty cool. I think both of these will complement Maketoys Cross Dimension releases quite well (which is where I'll be putting them). Much like cartoon scale, I think IDW-accurate is an impossible standard to make everyone happy, so I'll just say he looks good and seems to capture most of the essence of the IDW version of him.

 

Like it a lot, will buy it if the size is around ultra-leader

I've been wanting someone to make Star Saber for AGES and Planet X has been one of my favorite 3P Makers. This should be AMAZING....

Head needs some work but if Deathsaurus works out great I’m in for Star Saber.

 

love love love it. I hope they eventually make victory leo too. Its funny, I have no real exposure to the characters aside for a youtube clip here and there and of course MTMTE. But I've wanted a Star Saber figure for easily 15 years

oh and PX totally stole money away from MMC because of this (at least money from me). I was on the fence about which Desaurus I was going to get, now I know I will be getting the PX one. I want Deasaurus and Star Saber to be as similar aestethically as possible. So it makes sense to just get the PX ones. Only way that will change is if MMC decides to announce their own Star Saber and it combines and the PX one doesn't combine.
