My vote goes to Beast Wars

If that line failed, we wouldn't have all the lines that came after it.

Beast Wars. NEO in particular, but Beast Wars as a whole is great.

Part of me wants to say Cybertron or Alternators... but best stands for a lot more than just having cool toys, it also means standing the test of time and being more than just the new toys of the year, it has to have changed the toyline completely.

That said, I vote Beast Wars. Yeah, there's shellformers and kibble here and there, however the design and quality were unmatched by anything in years before. No more G2 wild colors or even stickers, painted and molded details were the standard now. The ball joint became standard and articulation was a priority. It brought in many new fans and literally saved the series, with the later G1 lines bombing and G2 toys starting to drop in sales. We're 10 years later and the toys still get repainted for current lines and rereleased successfully. Not to mention the best animated series we ever got along with them. Even if you dont like the beast era, Transformers owes a lot to it.

I'm torn between Alts, RID and Classics. The Alternators had the best toy designs beside MP. The new molds in RID were all great and repaints were much better than the originals for the most part, but Classics gave great updates of G1 bots (in both modes unlike the ALTs) w/ more articulation.

    Cybertron/Galaxy Force followed closely by Alternators/Binaltech/BT Ast/KP.

Cybertron is truly the only TF line I can safely say I like if not love almost every toy and paint scheme of. And there the only two lines I have had a true desire to complete wile not feeling obliged to complete. This is unlike other lines like RiD were I picked up a lot of stuff I probably shouldn't have, but felt obliged to pick them up anyway for completions sake.

Wile I still love lines like Beast Wars and Beast Machines, what makes Cybertron and Alts stand out is my love/hate ratio, as there are very few toys in Cybertron or Alts I really dont like. Wile in other lines there tends to be a lot more toys and paints I really dont care for. And in most other TF lines I find for every good or really toy, there's about 2-3 not so great or so-so ones.

Hmmm, in terms of show - Beast Wars. In terms of toys - Cyberton and RID.

Alternators for me (actually, more accurately, Binaltechs). It was the gateway drug that got me back into Transformers. Classics would be a close second, and RID third.

Beast Wars, because, like G1, it wasn't just the toys that made it great, but the characters too.

Closely followed by classics because they're G1 reborn. :)

Beast Wars for show, Cybertron for toys. I dearly love the Classics figures and all, but the line is way to short for me to consider it the best.

    1. Beast Wars. The most innovative line we've had, and by far the best TV show. All series after that owe their existence to it.
    2. Alternators. Despite most of the line never getting released here. The toys were incredible.
    3. Beast Machines. Some stunning toys, and the darkest TV show we're ever likely to get.
    4. Galaxy Force/Cybertron. Some extremely clever engineering on the toys, some downright amazing designs, and a very passable and enjoyable TV series.
    5. Classics. Although I only have 3 figures so far, they have pretty much been on permanent display since they got here. An outstanding homage line.
