Looks really good. I'll still probably wait for the cheap theatre though. I do not understand this sentence. This was a big hit in our house. My son was/is in love with that little guy.
Michael Giacchino composed the latest Star Trek film score as well as one of the best TV shows ever: LOST. Can't wait to see this. But, I have to wait til my nephew and sister come ove fro Houston and then see it.
So was I. And Finding Nemo. And Cars. And Ratatouille. I think The Incredibles is the last Pixar movie I really enjoyed. And unlike most Pixar movies, the previews for this do absolutely nothing for me. It looks like a very dull, unfunny, second rate CG movie along the lines of Over the Hedge (with admittedly better animation). I hope I'm wrong, and I may go see it, but I'm not holding much hope of it being a return to Pixar greatness.
This. I really don't understand how people can watch something like Wall-e or Up and just be like "Meh, whatever". Must be the people who keep movie franchises like the fast and the furious going... Went and saw it and loved it. Compared to something like Bolt, it could be considered a movie geared to a much older crowd. It never ceases to amaze me the work that pixar does on these films. And the Animated short was really fun too, not as good as the magician, but cute.
So you're saying it's the opposite of their last few movies where the trailers make it look good and the movie fails to deliver? Now the trailer looks dull and the movie is really good? A Bug's Life is kind of middle of the road for me as far as Pixar goes. If I had to order their films it would be: The ones I like: The Incredibles (Love it) Toy Story (I'll just combine them both) Monster's Inc. (Very Enjoyable) The ones I can watch, but don't really care about (This group is really hard to order, but the top 2 are definitely above the lower 2): Wall-E (Good for about 20 minutes, then just...eh) A Bug's Life Ratatouille Cars The one I don't like: Finding Nemo (I hated Nemo's dad as I hate most every "character" Albert Brooks does. Degeneres saved it just enough to be barely watchable.)
Watched it tonight and was surprised at the fact that much of the story was very sad. Quite a few people were sniffling in the theater. I was also surprised that the movie addressed kids suffering from divorces, violence from old men, and death. A little girl in front of us turned to ask her mom why the old man was so sad. Rankings! The Incredibles Ratatouille Wall-E UP Toy Story Finding Nemo Monsters, INC. Toy Story 2 A Bug's Life Cars
Actually, i think the weakest pixar film has to be cars. I enjoyed Wall-E, but anthropological robots are a win for me most of the time. (was gonna say objects but I really cold never bring myself to watch Cars again. I look forward to seeing UP, it's been added to my list of films to see this summer along with Terminator, Star Trek and ROTF.
I saw UP tonight and loved every second of it! I was especially impressed with the 3D aspect of it. The trailers and the Pixar short were all in 3D too and it was just awesome! The dogs were a real highlight for me. And you know your writing is good when a character like Ellie is introduced, is on screen for a total of maybe 2 minutes and still affects you as much as she did me. Just a wonderful movie!
What? How is this possible? you must have very particular tastes when it comes to movies. anyway, UP looks awesome, will likely see it with the ladyfriend on friday.
I watched it again. And I teared up during the opening sequence. It's so beautiful. It's so effortless in drawing out emotions. Only 4 movies have been able to make me tear up. Transformers for its sheer awesomeness. WALL-E. This. And ur... Cars?
They very closely tied to old anime TV shows. They're western versions of Japanese films and stories. Its like how magical and awe inspiring the Studio Ghibli films are especially at the times of their initial release.
I have to say that this is the first Pixar movie that made me cry a bit and laugh my ass off in the same hour and a half. The Trailer doesn't really explain much about this grumpy man's motifs. It was nice to see that it was more than just a story about a grumpy man leaving society. And the Alpha Male Dog.....laughed my ass off.
