Makes sense, Lego TFs would be awfully hard to do, especially Lego Movie TFs. The ones now work because the main characters consist of 3-4 Lego parts apiece.

rivalry aside (and Lego did make the Built to Rule line, right?) I think a TF game would be possible or practical, yet you may have to accept that the game may be altered a great deal to fit the Lego-verse.
what would keep them from making for the sake of gameplay overly simplistic lego versions of TFs? nothing, really. we aren't looking for ILM, we are looking for lego and a good time.

Same with Indy. Difference though is he created both, so he can sell licenses for both to whoever he wants. Meanwhile, Transformers is an original in house concept of Hasbro (Takara). They also license to merchandisers, but being a toy company, removes other toy companies from the list of potential licensees. If TF was originally created by a third company, such as Marvel or Lucas, then Lego might be in the fray.

In short, TF is limited on types of merchandise because Hasbro created it (with Takara).

Didn't Hasbro license out the Minibot key chains to another company?

True, but they were keychains. Had they been straight reissues, Hasbro would have released them themselves.

Why not a 'hasbro heroes' game with the Robot, Galactic, Super, Combat, and Adventure heroes?

I don't get the Lego games in general. I've never played, to be fair, but the concept itself seems weird to me.

It does no good to make a video game without a toy line tie-in.

So if there was no transformers Lego toys, why shoud there be a game? I would love to see a batman LEGO.

I think a LEGO transformers game would suck horribly and harm the lego game franchise.

Edit: The lego guy is right, it sounds like he just wants a good TF game that has nothing to do with legos but will happen to use legos as a way to get his game idea made. The guy who made the pitch is stupid, his idea is stupid and he should feel bad. The Lego rep guy is 100% right.
