Here we have some Shattered Glass Insecticons, although they equally work as Diaclone originals too (given that the diaclone molds were repurposed for the SG universe). They are created from the G1 Insecticons and have been heavily modified to provide some much needed articulation. I've also taken a bit of artistic licence and allowed Shrapnel's jaws/horns to rotate for a more streamlined look.

These were done for a good fellow who is organising a charity event and hopefully they will raise some money for a good cause. More details on that soon as the event rolls out in June.

There are some WIP pics at the end to show what was done to them and a picture of the final packaged set including my signature collectors cards :)

So it's my pleasure to introduce Kickback, Shrapnel and Bombshell (or Shothole, Zaptrap ad Salvo if you prefer)...

Forgot to mention, as they were suffering from chrome-wear, I gave their chome bits a few coats of holochromatic chrome. The chrome now shines with rainbow colours in good lighting conditions, although appears a bit muted in the photos. Enjoy ;)

Wow... I'm less interested in the SG/Diaclone paint job than the extensive amount of remodeling you put these guys through! Very impressive!

you've done a bang up job on the paint, love the shading and tones.
That alclad paint looks awesome in person too, I cant get the pics to show it properly either...

The build looks great BUT the icing on the cake has to be the packaging... how effing brilliant is that? Thumbs way up for the effort put in!

Thanks! All my customs come with collectors cards; and I've started using custom boxes for my larger customs. I've put a walkthrough of how it's all done on another website I frequent, but probably can't mention, lest my post gets censored with rule 8 reminders ;)

Cheers! I guess it does look a little like some of the colourings you get in the insect world. I was in two minds whether to go with the accepted Diaclone/SG colour scheme with the chromatic chrome, or go for an original SG scheme with a gold chrome, for something a bit different.

Thanks for the compliments. Much appreciated :)

Cool! Can I put that on my customs resume? :)

As were yours bro. I was gutted to see yours go for a steal on ebay.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the SG stuff myself, but it was the theme for the charity auction. I did however have a blast putting these together. I tried to retain as much of the originals as possible, only adding the necessary bits for articulation. To make it all fit together and look natural I had to widen and extend bits with styrene and relocated various bits (i.e. Kickback's hips are now his shoulders). I thought I'd add the WIP pics to show how much has been changed and I'm glad someone noticed :)

Thanks man. A good light source seems to be the key, but I didn't get much time to worry about photos before shipping them out. Here was another WIP pic I posted to my Facebook which shows the effect a little clearer...

    Anyone want a bit more?
Thought I'd add a bit of a competition to this one... If you can tell me what donor bots were used in this, I'll upload my exclusive collector's cards!
