Prime's legs are supposed to be boxy. He's a friggin trailer, and the leader of the Autobots.

And this Megs totally rocks. So what if his legs look kind of skelatal, from head to toe he's still way cooler looking and more accurate to the cartoon version than the clunkly G1 version.

But as for Starscream, meh? I love the character but they really didnt need to make him 10 inches tall, or color him in a weird dark blue/green paint. Totally steering clear of that one.

Are his legs as thin as they seem or is it just the black paint on the sides giving the effect?

I am pretty tired of people complaining about the skinny legs of MP Megs. If you want a gun that you can put your hand around the grip then you better make the legs skinny so when they are combined it's not something like 10" in width. Besides it's the most engineered and best designed MP so far and very show accurate so personally I can't ask for anything more.

I've never had a problem with the skinny legs, and in fact, I actually wish more toys had them. In G1, Prime and Shockwave both had twig legs, and I love the way they look with them. I dont have any problem with MP Prime, but I wouldnt have balked if he had the twigs. And frankly, I DO balk everytime I see Shockwave with boxy legs (like in the DW comics). The look doesnt suit him. If they ever make an MP Shockwave, I HOPE his legs are as skinny as Megatron's. Because that's how they're supposed to be. On the other hand, if a character originally had boxy legs, like Soundwave, then by all means, represent him that way. G1 Soundwave is still better than his Cybertron and Titanium counterparts.

I'm sorry, but this is unforgivable. MP-5's legs ,are not to mention way too skinny, but hollow. Now I understand why they are, however Takara could have designed some kind of panel that flipped around and that would cover the hollow legs plus give them more depth, look thicker. For now I'm only gonna getRevoltech Megs. :(

Nice pictures. He does not look too hard to transform. Do the instructions look complicated? Congratulations on your toy, I hope mine gets here soon.

I know I'm jumping the gun a little early here, but I was considering dropping $80 on the MP3 Soundwave but decided not to. I mean, I'm sure he'll rock and be poseable, but why pay $80 bucks for a toy that will be smaller than the original (he'll have to be to be a portable mp3 player). The actual concept of the toy seems contradictory. I'm sure he'll be cool to look at, but G1/TRU Reissue Soundwave is such an amazing toy, especially given the time in which it was created.

I think I'll stick with the oldschool version.

Unfortunately for you, the silk pants is not included withe toy! LOL!

Anyway, the more I fiddle with Megs the more mixed feelings I get. Although he is well engineered and designed, he seems pretty "light" compared to Optimus. I think you guys will know what I mean when you receive yours. :)

Kinda nitpicking here, but I wonder why they didn't include pics of World's Smallest Transformers Megatron, and Classics Megatron? I guess Classics Megs could be explained away by it being a north american line(but hey, it has copright info for Takara printed on it!), but why not include WST Megs, instead of putting another G1 megs in the corner?
EDIT: Actually, I guess that is pre-Transformers Megs, due to lack of Decepticon logo...but still. No love for WST?

making a show accurate G1 megatron is impossible. the only reason prime worked was because his alt mode was big enough and shaped right to do it. This is the best that anyone is ever going to get.

while MP3s mold had flaws that were avoidable - hip kibble - i have to say from a design standpoint MP5 CANNOT be improved. its really that good. they even devised a method to fill out the limbs (shifting parts that pop out) which i believe is unprecedented in ANY TF so far.

he only lack waist rotation, but once youll see the mechanism of the torso/waist armature, you would forgive it as the complexity is already at 11.
