Basically, it's akin to being one expensive Deluxe Class figure and it doesn't even transform.

I thought these models were cool...and the pricetag somewhat justifiable...until I saw how small Bumblebee is.

    F!@# that. No thanks. :(

Well Seeing it next to a couple of the deluxe figures, I have to say, it doesn't look so much better that I'd want it when we already have these (and better) deluxes that actually transform. Not for the price anyway... at all.

Thanks for the review and good pics!

    My thoughts exactly.

When I saw the promo shots for these, I was drooling. But now, although I still think the mold looks AMAZING, the actual materials look cheap and dull. If this had been twice the size, I might have sustained my interest, OR if it had been a quarter of the price. As it is, tiny + cheap-looking + ridiculously expensive = fail.

Such a crying shame after the early promise.

You know, I would be cool with TakaraTomy making Megatron and Shockwave in this model kit series (since Optimus Prime is roughly Leader-sized), given that they probably won't make Leader class toys of them.

Actually Prime is only just taller than Bumblebee, so he is about voyager sized.

Looks really good right out of the box. That was one of the main concerns I was having. But with some premium paint and gloss for the yellow bits. Holy shit he would look amazing.

Me = Considering this. The price really is not bad at all comparing to some gundam prices. And it's not meant to be a transforming toy, it's meant to be a display piece. I cant believe that some people think that because of the fact the charecter is from "Transformers" that every toy/item/collectible/figure/statue must transform.

That Bumblebee has a dull/cheap look, I won't deny it, but that was already the case when they showed it at some recent japanese event and Prime was still looking BEAUTIFUL in comparison so yeah, Bumblebee is maybe a little let down but the main piece of that small line will still probably be one of the best looking Prime ever.

Can't wait to replace my Leader Prime with this one on my shelf, I love the fact they made them in scale with each other and I too REALLY want them to make a Megatron to replace the inexisting Leader. :D

Gundam has had several movies and is as big in Japan as Star Wars is here. Your argument is invalid.

According to pre-release pics and info, Bee just reaches Prime's waist, and Prime is 24cm tall. Voyagers are usually much shorter than that.

It's totally possible that I'm remembering it wrong of course... Would anyone be able to post the pics of BB and Prime together? I just recall there not being much size difference between the two of them.

No, but the whole thing is stylised.

I won't get BB unelss he goes on sale. Way too expensive. I am still considering Prime, but I'll need to see in-hand pics and assembly.

How can it be both mediocre and balanced to end up above average? LOL!

    Wow.

I guess I'm wrong then. My previous statements are cheerfully withdrawn :D

Need that Prime badly now though.

    WHOA MAMA....

Modeling is a huge hobby of mine. Been building models since Fire was invented.

These are DAMN good looking, but yellow plastic quality looks shady. What would make me happienst if the plastic itself is more of the hobby type that accepts paint. I doubt it, but I can see some of the most fanstastic paint jobs from the guys in the radicon area making this look like a movie prop.

Im pretty impressed. I would really like to get one of these, but from what I remember they were over $100 US...thats just not even close to what I would pay for the size. If it were voyager..mabye in between voyager and leader size, I would consider it, but thats pretty damn small. I guess I was thinking they were bigger.

Well...I would say for the fans of the Bay designs in the film...there seems to be NOTHING more movie accurate than this right here...

Prime has to look good as hell. Would have liked to see higher quality plastic though, a few years back Testors models produced Plastic models that "didnt require paint" on the final body of the cars. That was some of the best quality plastic ive seen, and these would have benefited from that high gloss, deep color plastic like that. The yellow looks a lil opaque...
