Here's a pictorial review of the Tokyo Toy Show First Edition Clear Optimus Prime. This figure is the same mold as the First Edition Optimus Prime, hence this review will be more on a comparative basis.

Here are some pictures of the FE Clear OP in vehicle and robot mode:

During the comparison, the FE Clear OP will always be on the left side and the Hasbro First Edition OP on the right side. Here are the comparison views in vehicle mode:

    And in robot mode:

    And comparison of their weapons:

Even the weapons are clear compared to the weapons that comes with the Hasbro FE OP, which look nicer in my personal opinion, especially the blade. The blade weapon is still made of rubbery material but it is of a "harder rubber" compared to the Hasbro FE version, hence it feels more sturdy and able to fit more sturdily into the hands of the figure.

And the group shot with the Hasbro FE OP in some poses:

Overall, I do like this figure and the clear features on the same mold gives it a difficult kind of feel and glow to the figure. In my personal opinion, the clear blade weapon is a very much nicer blade compared to the one issued with the other First Edition OP. I do recommend this figure and it will be a nice addition to the collection. I do not have a Takara FE OP to put side by side in comparison with this FE clear OP but I suspect the red of on this clear OP will match closer to the red used on the Takara version.

Yes, the blue parts are transparent as well, except the blue portion at the crotch area, the other portions are clear transparent blue.

The only issue with mine is the legs and shins (?) don't stay together well and come apart almost every time I move the legs. Otherwise, great looking figure :)

Good thing I have some store credit to get this from BBTS.

I will say this: IMO The FE Optimus Prime mould is one of my favorite and one of the most fun OP moulds ever.

If you have the chance to score this version of FE OP (especially if you don't already own the original FE OP) DON'T WAIT!! GET IT!!

I can't wait for mine to come in.
Did they put the head all the way on the ball joint this time? Or does it still need to be unscrewed and pushed onto the joint ourselves?
You'll know if he can't look up. :p

Looks like candy, I want to lick the toy :lol

I ended up cancelling my pre orders to save cash for all of those Hot Toys Avengers, but if I have some extra cash lying around after paying for all my pre orders I may have to pick this up.

Clear Optimus Prime has always been popular among collectors but this First Edition Clear Optimus Prime has even added the extra touch to it.

Awesome figure, all the joints are made out of normal plastic though, not clear. Probably done to re-inforce joint strength.

All his joints are tight and he seems to have mitigated all the small flaws of the other two FE Voyager Primes. His hood snaps securely in truck mode [you have to push in the front grill\bumper for full closure], the wind vane sits on much better and the legs don't split so easily in robot mode.

Anybody else get a transformers DOTM paperbag from robotkingdom as well?

I finally picked this guy up last week. This is my first version of the FE Prime mold, and I've always had a weakness for translucent TFs.

This is a pretty, pretty figure. It looks even better in person than in pictures. Plus the mold itself is really nice too! No regrets whatsoever.

The answer is yes, you still have to unscrew the head and push it into the ball joint. This was the first thing I did when I got him out of the box! ;)
