To answer my own question for the other Canadians here...

This morning I called the Walmart in South Edmonton Common. The guy there said they had the movie in stock, but they didn't carry the Big Screen Edition. Assuming he understood my question, then maybe Canadians don't get it. Or at least not yet. I asked him if he knew if Canadian Walmarts would get it anytime soon and he said he didn't know. I might call again or stop by a Walmart before the day is over but I may not have any better luck.

So much for picking up the movie on the first day. Don't tell me I have to go to the trouble of buying the Big Screen Edition from eBay or something.

Sometimes it's bizarre to me why things have to be different for the same company on either side of the largest, yet most open national borders in the world. Especially since Walmart Canada already carries the basic DVD and Blu-Ray already, how much harder is it for whoever ships them their goods to just throw in some Big Screen Editions in a box? Seriously!

Got it earlier today! I haven't had time to watch it all day. :(  Gotta go to work in less than an hour, too.

I know the single disc DVD was $13.96 when I got it with my Big Screen Double Disc Blu Ray version, which came out to $19.96. Was worth the drive early in the morning.

    IMO

Got the Blu Ray edition after I dropped off my daughter at her school. I an HDTV which is 1080P, a PS3 connected through HDMI, and a fiber optic cable to my audio reciever. I never watched this movie in IMAX and noticed the extra scenes and the IMAX footage itself. The forest scene made more sense even though it wasn't much, and when constricons were combine to form Devastator. The only way to go is watch this movie in High Definition period...

Also, I have a laptop which plays Blu Rays in High Definition which I can watch the movie while at work.

One of my co-workers picked up 2 copies of the Blu-Ray at an Atlanta area Wal-Mart last night (one for him, one for me) and got them both for $13.00 as well. Must have been a screw-up somewhere along the line.

Fuck Wal-Mart's "Big screen edition". I'm definitely going with Best Buy's. Let's see two minutes of film, or a prime bust and a $50 side show gift card..... ohh that's tough.

I bought the very first blu-ray copy from my walmart monday at midnight.

I've been watching the hell out of all the special features. not too keen on the allspark part (all the robots you build look almost the same)

all the behind the scenes stuff with Bay in it gave me a newfound respect for Bay. the man had to do soo much crap in the short amounts of time he had to make the movies. and my god ILM they deserve medals seriously. they busted their asses on very tight deadlines to get everything perfect. and to know that premiere day in japan bay worked on last second stuff to make sure it was perfect was just very commendable.

I will be viewing the movie with a whole newfound respect now.

I'll take the two minutes of film. $50.00 Sideshow gift card is pointless.

agreed. I got the little alien thing with Indy 4 and got a $25ish card for them and still haven't used it. Need about $200 to get anything remotely decent..

After watching the IMAX Forest scene last night, I'm WAY glad to have the walmart version over other store's incentives. The whole forest scene is enhanced and it blew my mind. It was too late at night to stay up for the other IMAX scenes but I can't wait.

I watched it on my laptop last night also. And the monitor is slightly better than my HDTV, so that forest scene looks fucking amazing in Bluray on my laptop.
