He looks good to me. I'm not completely sold on him yet, but I might get him. I'm kinda curious to see how many more, if any, G2 series figures will be made.

Okay, it says he's from Generation...we don't know. Either 1 or 2, but I REALLY don't see why people are saying that it's Generation 2. To be honest, there's not much of a difference between the G1 Inferno toy and the G2 Inferno toy, except that G2 has a hose cannon that fires water.

Dont like it, Inferno breaks Classics concept, he looks like Energon or even a more articulated Armada figure.

It definitely says G2, and I'm guessing it's largely because of the water cannon, as that's really the only difference between the two versions (and the fact that G2 didn't have the missiles, as the wrist launchers had beplaced by a simple post hole).

As for the bio, I don't think any amound of fancy technology is going to enhance that to a readable size; it's just too low a resolution as it is. We'll need bigger original photos.

There is also the fact that is says G2 on the package there too. Can't make what G2 equivalent of "the epic original" that G1 gets is.

Considering Classics was just carrying on Cybertron-style designs without a key gimmick, I don't see why Inferno here (or any other Universe toys) are such a big problem.

Then again, people strangely treat Classics as if it's a unique, special toyline.

..But... that's the first thing I said in the post that you quoted!
I'm not even sure what that second sentence means, I'm afraid.

True story. I'm lumping a lot of my modded Cybertron figs in with my Classics/Universe figs, either as homages or new characters.

I like the timeline on the bottom of the box that tells you which Gen the figure is from :)

You think Jolt was gonna be the G2 Series character before they had to put him in the movie line, and then they "moved" Inferno to compensate? It's a thought, but probably wrong since he came out so long ago, I guess in Universe he would've just had "Classics Series" on his card.

It *is* a little weak to represent the G2 series with one of the guys that was barely different than their G1 toy, but ah well. Either way, it's a cool figure.

Jolt SHOULD be re-released under the Universe banner as a G2 series just for that reason. IIRC, he was the only one that DIDN'T get rereleased at Wal-Mart...

Every "series" on the 25th timeline has a sentence explaining it. G1 says "the epic beginnings or something to that effect, look at the Bruticus gift set instruction images.

If Inferno had been G1 series. That little timeline in the 25 years bit would have said "Generation 1 - The epic origins" right above the chart position in the 84-09 timeline. G2 has some text like that of it's own, I just can't make it out.

Wow. That's the worst thing I've read in forever. Look at the original Inferno who this is supposed to be. That boxy chest is the best thing about this toy and perfectly captures the feel of those old diaclone toys.

That doesn't make sense. It's one thing that Inferno has much of its design in common with many Energon or Cybertron figures (box chest, no waist, but well-articulated limbs), but another that THIS of all things somehow makes him a perfect Diaclone homage. So what? Is that supposed to be a good thing?

I wasn't much of an Inferno fan when the first images came out, and he looks better now, but I'm still not. Yet the 360 in opinions and justifications for this one figure being perfect or awesome confuses me. What, all of Classics and Universe should be like him, totally limit their designs to what came before and not advance? Even though that's exactly what happened with the beloved Classic figures? Someone help me out here.
