I think the reason people don't like Arcade's revenge is because of the difficulty involved. It's not a great game, but it isn't terrible. You just need to get used to the little nuances of the game. Obviously some levels are more trying than others.

A game you missed: X-Men Mutant Academy. I remember pulling off some fun combos in that game. Has to fall into at least the mediocre to fair range.

Eh, I can't say that the first Genesis X-Men game was all that great. Not that I played it extensively, but I remember it being pretty clunky, and "punishing" the player for using the character's powers seems... wrong. I also remember the graphics being pretty muddy in places, sometimes making it difficult to distinguish power-ups and certain platforms from the background.

Clone Wars was a vast improvement. Smoother platforming, free usage of abilities, bigger character selection, etc.

    xD I remember that game!
My brother pulled off some gigantic combo with Wolverine. It was ridiculous :p

Anyway, X-Men Legends 1 and 2 are on the "Best" list, so I have no qualms ^^

I've played all of them because i grew up with the X-Men comics since i was 5 and i was excited about this game 22 years ago when i saw an ad for it from LJN and i knew i had to rent it when it hits stores when i was 8. MY GOD what a waste of hours of my life, one of the worst games i've ever played as LJN proves to be Satan's rainbow.

A lot of the games got the powers wrong. You'd have a power bar for things that shouldn't use power (like Wolverine's claws) and other abilities weren't even present. Another thing is that the boss battles were silly. In the comic or TV show they would work as a team to defeat the major bosses, and no way should you be able to take out Juggernaut, Magneto, Apocalypse, etc 1v1 with certain characters.

Also, the crash screen was interesting in X-Men (Genesis) but also a real pain.
